This is a hypothetical situation to asses your ability to take responsibility for your actions. The purpose is so that you may understand those who are placed in position of leadership will face many difficult decisions. I had my own far share even as a private citizen. It is easy being armchair critics to criticise others, but if you were place in that position of responsibility, what would you have done?
You are the Captain of a passenger ship with 500 passengers and 50 crew members.
Travelling inthe middle of the ocean, the engine room caught fire. Standard Operating Procedures were to seal the exit door of the engine room and turn on the fire control system to contain the fire.
But a group of 15 young and brash officers decided to take matters into their own hands, believing that they could put out the fire with fire fighting equipment.
You scream over the intercom for them to get out, but they don't respond as you see them there fighting the fire on your video screen. The fire gets worse and if it is not contained by sealing the door immediately, it will engulf the entire ship and kill everyone aboard.
Your finger is laying on the button to seal the door. You left only 1 second. would you:-
a.) Seal the door, thereby killing the 15 officers, or
b.) leave the door open, allowing the fire to rage outside the engine room and destroy the whole ship, killing everyone?
There is no right or wrong answer. You will have to face moral issues over the decision yourself. If you wish to participate in this test, just answer a. or b. If you contribute more than one letter, then you would have killed all, for you would have taken more than 1 second and that 1 second will doom everyone.

Why no water sprinklers?

"Standard Operating Procedures were to seal the exit door of the engine room and turn on the fire control system to contain the fire."
You didnt read that or miss it, did you?
Fire control system are new techology use of water or foam, in combination of fire alarms, fire detection, fire suppression to fight fires espacially in highly volitile areas, not to be confuse with military weapon firing sequencing.

Do someone need to go down to the engine room and seal it?
Seal the door. And make a grand ceremony for them, stating that they died rescuing people. But you know they died becuase they were too stupid.

No lol, the door is an air tight door and will release CO2 to extinguish the fire upon sealing.

It's activatable from the control panel at the control room.
what is the analysis of the answer a and b?
I will choose A...
Reason: There is no best answer/solution to this question/situation..
One can only choose the most favourable answer/solution..
I can come out with 10 more options for this question.
But it seems like you are trying to suan someone by asking this questin, of coz choosing A lah.
In real life, there are often many situations which one will needs to sacrifice..
This is just one of the typical type of question only..
B.
Actually there was no fire in the ship, but the Captain of the ship committed arson in the ship, so that the Captain can 打劫 (looting under the cover [chaos] of fire)。
Likewise, with the increasing oil & inflation, a profiteering government can increase basic services and charges to it's will and blame it on inflation.
gather all passengers & crew and seal them into the fire thus saving only myself + can plunder the passenger and crew's belonging
everyone else is expendble except me
P.S - will also save the prettiest girl among the passenger and crew provided she is willing to service me

I think this scenario given by DeerHunter hardly describes the situation our government is facing.
The facts are, the government has huge amount of reserves, in the past they told us that the reserves will be used to help citizens through difficult times should it arise. But difficult times are upon us and they have gone back on their words.
This is more a case of having 2 rooms in a villa, one room is where the elites will feast on meat and wine; while another room for the poor with only porridge to eat. Alot like Manor Farm.
A. For the greater good.
I am pretending that TS has a gun pointing on my head but before I chose A I must ask him what the fuck is15 fire fighters in full gear doing on my fucking plane?
Leadership responsibility test 2:
If you are the captain of a ship, you as the captain make $3.7 millions, while your lieutenants make $2.5 millions and your deck hands (sailors) make $20,000.
When the price of living goes up, your sailors are not making enough to provide basic necessities for their elderly parents, wife and children.
Will you as a leader:
1) Ask the ship owner to reduce the salary of the captain and lieutenants, distribute the excess of these salaries to help your ship crew.
or
2) Greedily keep all the money for yourself at the same time asking the ship owner for more salary because you get more from selling backside at the docks. Since you are no longer selling backside at the docks, you demand the same payment as you would get from selling backside.
What kind of moral leader do you think we have? (1) or (2)

The Minister of Firefighting forgot to plan for the firefighters, but it's an honest mistake, after the 15 crewmen has died, we have to move ahead, forget about the mistake, not brood on it. ![]()
Maybe he did submit the form but Ok lah let[s move on so he says
