Considering that the price of US oil is governed by worldwide demand, whether or not the US produces any oil is irrelevant. In fact, one of the reasons for the high price of oil now is largely because of the falling US dollar and the fact that the world's oil is largely traded in US dollars. So much so that some oil producing countries even contemplate switching to the Euro to earn more profit, and for good reason. Of course if they did that, the US Dollar might plunge and we will all be in quite a lot of deep shit. Saudis charge so low for petrol? Didn't you know the Saudis heavily subsidize lots of stuff? US subsidize petrol? Say it ain't so! They can't even bring themselves to tax the fucking oil companies properly!
Now here's an additional tidbit: Norway produces a fair bit of oil, and the the petrol tax is a stunning 63%! Try to beat that!
If you are so keen to compare petrol price of net oil importing countries, talk about reasons for high oil price, US$ etc, you can always start a new thread and I will be more than willing to discuss that in details with you.
This thread is about comparing Singapore petrol price to similar economy facing similar challenges so please dont contaminate it with irrelevant materials.
Have you ever ask yourself why countries like Norway are imposing high petrol tax, and countries like Sweden are moving towards renewable energy source?
OK, I'm losing attention to this thread not only because TS is unable to provide a link to back his claim that Korea petrol price is ~SGD$2.30, also because he/she had shifted from putting up argumentative statement to just pure, childish flaming.

Do you agree with Maurizio13 and his article that the current petrol price in Korea is about S$1.50 per litre?
YES or NO?
I promise I will show you the article after you answer me.

You cannot even prove your point, and have to consistently resort to putting words into my mouth. It's a bad habit you know? Isn't it obvious not only can you not read time difference, you cannot even comprehend simple English statements.
We all know you are unable to provide a link, so stop acting like a spoilt brat.

Why do you need to do a survey on the price of petrol when they are clearly stated on the pump?
Singapore is a non-oil producing developed country, and naturally when you want to compare the price of gas you will have to compare to countries of the same kind, facing similar challenges.
Instead of behaving like a lazy bum waiting to be served with information, why dont you me a favour by looking for a non-oil producing developed country which offer cheaper petrol and diesel than Singapore.
Take your time to look for it, however just remember that net oil importing country is not necessary a non-oil producing country. Please do you homework before sprouting.

1) Why are you asking if I drive? Does it mean that if I am a driver what I say will sound more knowledgable and carry more weight?
2) Why do you want to pick V-Power price as comparison when you can pump 95?
If you have doubt in what I am saying in this, you are most welcome to prove me wrong.

The reason you are laughing is because you are jumping into conclusion before reading the content of this thread.
It is always wiser to think before you talk.

Did you realised that there has been many talk about me sprouting rubbish on the korean petrol price and asking me for evidence and link etc, and yet non of them have the guts to tell me that they believe your S$1.50 per litre article is accurate.
I wonder why Maurizio is so special that non of them dare to challenge what he wrote, even when we all know that Maurizio always end up making a fool out of himself
I guess blind never challenge the blind huh?

Why don't you go coil some christmas lights around your weenie and sing me a christmas song.. and I promise to forgive you for disgracing your PAP Smear master ?
haha
1. TS is living in self-denial
2. TS cannot produce evidence of what he wrote while Maurizio showed everyone his source, yet TS claims he must be right
3. TS continues to act like a spoilt brat simply because no one wants to answer his childish questions
Stupidity of the greatest order
TS thinks he must be correct and can never be wrong
I Am Above Failure: So you think that you are somehow far too talented, hard-working or knowledgeable and that everything you touch will turn into gold? Sorry to burst your bubble there, but we humans are flawed by nature so that, my friend, I?m afraid that you may just be living in denial if you have such a way of thinking.
I'm Never at Fault: Others are always at fault, aren't they? You keep doing everything right and they just ruin things for you, do they? Sorry to have to say this, but not assuming responsibility is one of the most obvious signs that you are living in denial.
He keeps trying to tell everyone that they are wrong
Everyone Else is Wrong: Are all of the people who don't agree with you clueless? Are they that ignorant, can't they understand your brilliance? I'm sorry but, if that's the way you see things, I am afraid that the problem lies elsewhere. One tip: it's not with everyone else.
And he attempts to give excuses and twist away from reality and facts
Everything Has an Excuse: "I'm not going to do this because..." "I would have done that, if not for..." Do you somehow manage to find excuses for everything? Good for you, maybe you will find someone who pays you for that, but for the time being, your attitude is yet another sign that you are simply living in a fantasy world.

it doesn't matter whether he's correct or wrong.. it doesn't matter whether it's high or low.. it doesn't matter whether we talking about fuel prices or euro 2008 results..
what matters now is
WHETHER YOU HAVE FACTS TO BACK UP WHAT YOU CLAIMED, WHATEVER YOU CLAIMED.
and u cant even understand that.
TS, if you maintained that Jupiter has life form, it is incumbent on you to back-up what you said, and not say, `now, prove me wrong.'.
your topic reminds me of a car ad i saw a few years ago as i was car-hunting. it claimed the following: `the best selling japanese v6 2litre car in singapore'. i looked around there for comparable japanese makes and there is no 6 cylinder 2 litre car in that category at that time. LOL, of course it is the best selling car and they can make the claim. they could have sold 2 units and claim to be a market leader.
in estonia, they would have called you an ohmu, but you would have understand the romanian better because they call an `idiot', idiot even in the romanian language.
Smlj sia.

Before you make the above statement, I would presumed that you have read Maurizio13's article on the S$1.50 per litre Korean petrol price. Can I also assume that you are in agreement with the Maurizio13 that the koreans are paying S$1.50 per litre for their petrol?
YES or NO?
I will show you the article after you answer to my question.

I think that is what everybody (including you?) is hoping so that they wont be embarrassed by their own stupidity in believing what Maurizio said about S$1.50 per L petrol price the Koreans are paying.
