I was just looking through the Singapore Budget 2008, one thing that amazes me is that for most of the expenditure class, they provide expenditure and revenue matching, except for Medical and Health.
With an expenditure of SG$2.6 billions, there is no matching revenue from the hospitals. Except this SG$12 million revenue from Ministry of Health under fees and charges. I didn't know our various "public" hospitals only generate SG$12 million a year, that's worse than ONE medium sized trading firm.
What happens to the profits from the hospitals?
Who owns our hospitals?
Do hospitals provide us with yearly financial statements?
