The Malaysian FM certainly has the gall to suggest that the Singapore and Malaysian Navy should conduct JOINT-PATROL around Preda Branca, so as to prevent a repeat of the sea collision.
This shows the sneakiness of the Malaysian FM to capitalize on our moment of grief, so as to make advantage that will reinforce their own claims to this disputed island – as they will be able to boast that they have equal “administrative access” in patrolling the waters around this island.

they'll be compelled to act nice for awhile since adding insult to injury is "contrary to acceptable norms" as they so delicately put it some days ago...
i think if he REALLY has balls, then he should sign the bloody special agreement in Brussels which is the earliest time both foreign ministers can meet... Singapore very busy lah! where got time entertain their nonsense to fix another time just because they're too free... sickening...
its pointless to want joint patrols... its messy enough in there. no point having more ships lurking around uninvited... we langar we lan lan... shipping lane congested also no choice... imagine if THEY langar and clog up OUR shipping lanes...
so they should just stay in their half pond where they belong. -
For my view , his opinion is not helpful in this time of situation , where we jus lost a few precious soldiers and without settling the first few disputes , new disagreements arises.

the malaysians never ceases to amze me. wasn't that pathetic offer of joint patrols really distasteful and inappropriate? it was clearly obvious to the casual observor that they were trying vainly to draw attention to their weak assertions that pedra branca is theirs.

So what if MY boats are there?... Have their sampan participate in a multi boat collision?
Or have them keep an eye on SG patrol so they can officially report every movement to dr mati? -
i kind of like tony tan reply to the offer of joint patrol.....he said that that is spore waters and the accident happened in spore water...... also the way he said it is to me quite casual, but if we read behind the lines, that demostrates the govt resolve and resilence in this issue........ although the accident is unfortunate, but this accident have somewhat strenghten our resolve in claiming the rock, lives have been lost while ensuring that no intruder actually steps into our soil..... and lets hope that the lives the 3 heroines were not lost in vain......we will keep the rock...let no one question it.

Maybe his counter offer is that SG police can patrol johor to protect the interests of singaporeans investing in their economy like shopping, beauty salons, vcds, etc.... etc...

It's best that we pay no attention to Malaysia's FM. Like his counterpart, Rafidah (trade minster), he is prone to being an occasional foghorn of noise.
Nothing he said has been helpful. If anything it has been hurtful and insensitive.
It is also disappointing that a FM of a nation can pass such inconsiderate remarks at a critical moment in relations. -
We can only sit back and do what we always have, yawn at his feble attempts to make sense, let alone a chorent argument.
