Haiz. The fatherly care of Dr Ong Chit Chung passed away.
He was caring. I went for his legal clinic once.
When i was 14 years old. I even came to the block and shake hand with him.
He was like a father of Bukit Batok.
Hope he can go heaven. For he is a great and humble person that i know.

SINGAPORE: Dr Ong Chit Chung, a Member of Parliament for Jurong GRC, passed away on Monday morning. He was 59 years old.
His family told Channel NewsAsia that Dr Ong was at home when he died peacefully.
A five—term MP, Dr Ong was a lecturer in military history at the National University of Singapore when he went into politics in 1988.
He won the single—seat ward of Bukit Batok for two terms before the constituency became part of the Bukit Timah GRC in 1996, and then Jurong GRC in 2001.
In 1991, Dr Ong was appointed Parliamentary Secretary for Home Affairs and Labour.
He later left the world of academia and joined the private sector. At the time of his death, he was President of Davos Life Sciences Pte Ltd.
During his twenty years in politics, Dr Ong had also served as the Chairman for the Government Parliamentary Committees for Education, Defence and Foreign Affairs.
In a statement to the media, Dr Ong’s family said they are saddened by their loss. And in memory of his service to the residents in his ward, they have asked that in lieu of wreathes, donations can be made by cheques to the PAP Community Foundation, Bukit Batok Branch.
The wake for Dr Ong will begin on Tuesday evening at his family home at 41, Princess of Wales Road.
The funeral is expected to be held this Friday. — CNA/yb/ms

I dunno about the contributions made by this gentlemen.
As for his vacancy, lots of fami-Lee members are there to fill up the empty seat.
Time for passionate sinkes to shed crocodile tears and put comments on some one that they dun know.
Time for the rest of poodles to show their face on national TV.
My condolences to the family of Dr Ong and may his soul rest in peace.

with all the due respects in the world,
although I would think he is a very very super great man,
I also not very the sure what major contributions he had made to Singaporeans.
All I know is he served as an MP for long long time.
So, to be fair to the late great man, could someone pls enlighten me? I would love to honor this guy.
I send my condolence.

This fellow had the mood to play golf when there are so many problems arising that require ministers and mps to solve. What a great MP shown here isn't it?

Dear Dr Ong Chit Chung,
Thank you for everything you given to Bukit batok. Let it be IUP program, the new park, new playground. You have brought signicant changes to all the blocks. Last time was very cold and quiet. U gave Senior Citizen corner. Greenhouse Construted to grow some Vegetable or plants for the Citizen. Table-tennis table, Sit on every block.
Everything would not happen without you.
Paying you my last respect. My beloved BB papa.
You will always rest in all our Bukit batok's citizen heart. DEEPLY missed.
