Yeah but a perpetually backward country with a population thats almost 5 times your own and whose leaders are more sensitive to criticism than a home pregnancy test kit cant be a good thing. As far as I can see Singapore will always be more advanced. They have really smart people in charge, its leaders dont have to pacify a large rural population thats very religious and, for some Singaporeans, there actually IS a God of Money/Fortune to pray to.
As far as im concerned it doesnt get any better than Singapore

Malaysia isn't that backward, except maybe compared to Singapore's higher standards, I think its just that we are too used to Singapore. . .
Singapore isn't exactly a fortress, if you think about it, Singapore's economy is SUPER vulnerable to world market, and while we are developed, at least unofficially developed, Singapore also carries the worry of having our computers hacked and other forms of cyberattacks.
'fortress' Singapore can definitely defend against a direct physical attack from Malaysia. . .losses will be high, but I believe Singapore will win, just hope no one else attacks after that and we don't have to participate in major regional war.. . it'll drain the whole Singapore. . .
Regarding why M'sians like to think Singapore will attack them (and we think Malaysia will attack us), i think its cos the military is always an interesting point of debate, plus the many articles we read in the papers about political disagreements between the two countries, these sort of fuel the discussions on why M'sians think Singapore will attack them and Singapore thinks Malaysia will invade us.
