Petrol go down. People ask public transport how. Public transport if go down, people will ask rice how. If rice go down, people will ask salary how. If salary goes up, people will ask electricity bill how. Electricity bill go down, people will ask hdb how. hdb prices if go down, people will ask ERP how.

Anything to do with money making by Pay and PAy will hardly or never go down. Petrol prices go down, they will still continue to increase the utilities bills. MOney is always not enough for them. that is just fluctuation, we all know petrol prices will increase again due to peak oil and we cant keep adjusting transport fees accordingly to petroleum prices every time it decreases due to fluctuation, its plain retarded to do so.

Hi,
I have been browsing this forum for some time. Just decided to sign-up to post in the forums after benefiting from the many informative postings.
Businesses can easily quote things like oil price, globalization, inflation etc as reasons to justify price hikes.
Indeed, many many businesses have hiked their prices.
But when oil price drops, will businesses reverse the hike?
Things like Food items have become more expensive across the board including staple items.
I think life is like this, when oil price drops, hiked prices will not be reversed.
And everyone has no objection about it, I suppose, based on historical evidence ;)
Moral of the story - good to be doing business in a pro-bis environment. You die, you die lor.

That's the problem with Singapore. Petrol price go down you don't expect price drop. Even when the economy went down there were no price drops. There were even increases. This is how Singapore became so expensive.
Has anyone ever heard of price decrease in Singapore before? Not in my 40 years of my life. Only price hikes.

buses dun use petrol, they use diesel
and anyway current diesel prices is still high @ $1.60+ per lit compared to last yr's $1.20 per lit
I wun be suprised tat fuel prices could go up again once factories in PRC resumes production as and when Olympics is over

FYI, there is no tax 4 diseel 4 public transport companies in sinkapore!!!
It is only S$1.30 dissel for taxi and buses here!!!!

million $ profit? how much did diesel cost went up? how much are their profits affected? Answer can only be known on Wed when SBS post it's Q2 resultsI'd rather they continue to make profits be it more or less, rather than them making losses
anyway if you want to question, you should question why are e oil cos making billions of profits?

Honestly is anybody really stupid enough to believe fare hikes are directly related to oil prices? The only thing is that the rise in oil prices was a convenient excuse for PAP to announce fare hikes.
2 things are for true though, PAP is only interested in profiteering and Raymond Lim is a 4-eyed dickhead.

First time that I actually agree with sbst275, they should make profits rather than losses.For FY 2008 SMRT made losses of SGD 150 million.
While SBS Transit made losses of SGD 50 millon.

Use backside think also will know, Monopoly how to lose money (only supplier, many customers), moreover it's a basic necessity.
