OMG, I am so ignorant that I did not realize that winning a medal will net the player $1 million dollars, $500k and $250,00 for gold, silver and bronze... WTF??!!
Who is the bloody idiot who is giving away tax payer's money for this? We're already spending millions of dollars importing FTs for sports and training them; now to give away so much money for winning a medal? In fact, most of them considers themselves PRC instead of Singaporean..
What does the medal do for Singaporeans? Really!!? Can it feed the poor? Is this where our GST increase is suppose to be going to? And our gahman refuse to increase the allowance for the old and age to $300 a month?!
I don't feel proud as a Singaporean, I feel really stupid
This reminds me of what a foreign scholarship student said of Singapore's government and Singaporean.. that we're a bag of straw.. totally stupid to be giving away so much for nothing.
the gahmen knows it is near to impossible for them to get medals mah
Anyways she's already lost out on a medal earlier liao ... She finished 5th in the womens' 100m butterfly this morning

Not a concern if they are using taxpayers' money for it, Pay and Pay not paying for it. So long it is not their money, they can choose to use it as they like, for foreign investment and make losses out of it, ha ha ha, they are so "brilliant" in investing. No heart pain for them not their money.
In China, the atheletes strive for sports not for monetary term. From young, they are taught to do well to serve their country.

No.. not exactly. I just checked online and Tote Board is the primary sponsor but under it's Social Service Fund programme. The Tote Board is setup to manage Singapore Pools (another separate entity) but the Social Service Fund is like a charity of some sort and receives funding from the government... standard left poket-right pocket game play.
Yup.
So don't wonder why all the Chinese athletes come to Singapore. It's because of the better pay, not because they like our country. Ever heard of the saying: money makes the world go round? Classic example, I tell you.
I wonder what the athletes from China will say when they see their own countrymen serving another country just for the money... After all, opportunities are aplenty for people to meet in the Olympiq Village.
PRCs won't paiseh one, they only want money.
Not worth my 2 cents comment on her . No5 is like go n f kite!!!!
