There was on one occasion i read a news tat returning soldiers from Iraq had a free brothel treat. What priviedges do we NS men get other than a starting higher pay, but that benefit too gets eaten up.
Other countries treat their serving soldeirs very well compared to ours.
Guys in NS can find a few good buddies and start a business venture together while they are still in NS!!! (Don't come and tell me it's difficult, if you want everything to come easy then I can tell you, COMPLAINING and WHINING is the easiest thing you can choose to do right now until the time you DIE)
They can hire their girl friends or girlfriends to work and watch over the business venture for them. But of course they must also work when they get released on Saturday and Sunday.
Please be more POSITIVE and you too can be happy with your life.

that is... very extreme...
my army buddies usually study the market and think about starting business when they have free time, and they did start some business after ORD. but i haven't heard of ns people starting business while still in NS.

That's the difference between a successful person and a normal person.They may go through the same NS and life, but the successful person will knows what he wants and do not hesitate to do it. A normal person just sits and wait.
Although it may seems to be very little difference in the time they started to work for their plans, the difference will be outstandingly significant in their lives and future.
Take a break and take life easy and relax and have fun, then life will zoomed pass you like when I zoomed pass those gan chiong men on the roads.
How many regrets does people actually needs in their lives before they start to awake to take action to become the person they always wanted to be in their future?

It's the BEST time for guys to try out to start a business during that period when most guys were relaxing and having fun wasting away their lives.Perfect opportunity for them to RISE UP (Not MARI KITA pls...CB).

ok, maybe it is viable for stay out personnel. But for stay in personnel, you won't even know if you will be able to make a phone call for the week. that's why i reccomend guys to try to do research for business. if you are in NS and you start a business, you have too high a chance of failure, and failure cost money.
and when they book out, they do RISE UP, and need time to destress, making time even more tight.

the truth is, I have been there, seen that, and really think that it is not something i will encourage. i have heard success stories of students starting a business while still schooling, and i believe that if you work hard, you will succeed. but i can't find it in my heart to encourage people to do things that is so risky.
but since you request me to do something positive and encouraging once in my life, and to do it here....here goes...

you totally got know idea of what NS is all about and what the fuck we actually went through for 2 years. Go and join the military and we shall see whether you will whine about it or not. fucking armchair critic!

Coward? if i am a coward i would have AWOLed long time ago or flee to another country b4 enlistment, if i am a coward i would take the easy way out and keng my way through 2 years rather thab be a combat specialist. Police & CD got different role than the SAF not to mention they got higher pay than SAF NSF at the same level. All my men from my active days in unit till we did reservist whine and complain about NS/Reservist, but when its time to move out they still do so and perform well up to standards. If war happens tomorrow i have my absolute faith in them not to flee. So if they whine and gripe everytime we have to do something i would not say a damn word about it, And hey if most of us were cowards, SAF would got a problem with manpower....and why dont you try being a soldier for a week or two, then we'll see what you gotta say about NS.
