Well, the magnitude of problem to people taking drugs and gambling r different. If u really wanna ban gambling, then 4D has to go too and possibly 30% of the population bet it from time to time. People can gamble responsibly but taking drugs always give pontentially dangerous side effect.

I don't have to do tis u know. I personally know people who bet on 4D time to time and they r responsible family men and people. One of them is my father and the other is my brother. U do not know anybody who bet on 4D and r responsible normal people at all ?
"not all people" means most people do not become gambling addicts. "Not all people" lives r saved when they go to a reputable hospital as well.

So personally knowing afew people who place bet on 4D is representative of everybody in Horse Racing, Soccer Betting, TOTO and 4D? -
Well as said before, i see a lot of people gambling on 4D and toto. In fact u can get a rough statistics from the number of people who bet on toto from the last 8 million dollar draw. 89,593 win the group 6 prize. If u consider for every 100 person, 1 person win tis prize, it is already a large proportion of the population.

I dont get what you are talking about at all. How can you assume that out of 100 person, 1 will win?
You should take into account that 1 person may buy more than 1 ticket.
Do you know how many tickets are sold in the first place?

The interesting thing is, gambling is a probability game. Many people dont get it. Most of the time the odds are against you, but some of the time the odds are with you. When the odds are with you, you just have to make big bets. Odds are against you, why bother betting at all? I find it hard to believe that people like losing. The feeling sucks!
I suggest everyone read this good article on "probability and its relevance to life".

You should take into account that 1 person may buy more than 1 ticket.
The fact is, I don't have the statistics can can only guess from these secondary statistic. U r right to say no everybody buy 1 ticket but multiple tickets but again not every tickets has a 1/100 chance to win either.
The conclusion is a high amount of tickets r sold, and from observation a high number of people do buy 4D and toto.

If u go into organised gambling like 4D and casino, u will surely lose in the long run.

I know of people who are into horse racing betting and due to this their families broke up, divorced. Really sad, usually gamblers for this end up very pathetic.

hahaha, for once I agee with you guys on the ill impact of casino in Singapore. I hope you are opposing because you truely believe it is bad for the society and next generation, not because it is a PAP project.
