Our undergrad’s priorities is also worrying. He thinks it is more important to complete some silly assignment than to be bothered about others’ livelihood!
Are you sure those statistics are correct, because according to LKY there are no poor in Singapore. ![]()

Lack of empathy in kids these days.
Folks these days get so engrossed with living their lives in their own little box, they forget about the plight of less than ordinary folks.
my in-laws actually bag the cans at home after drinking them and pass them on to the old ladies down their block once a week.
i thought it was a nice gesture on their part. i just don't know why they drink so many canned drinks.
i recycle my plastic bottles but don't think they collect plastic bottles.
but whenever i buy new stuff i will pass the cardboard boxes to the Singaporean elderlies collecting them. the last time i left them outside my house, the stupid PRC man came over took the cardboard box and left all the plastic and foam packing on the floor for me to pick. how selfish and irresponsible. these days i never put cardboard boxes outside.
Go easy on the kids la, after all they were just being good little girls and boys dutifully completing their assignment. They were just being pragmatic and doing what they were told to do like they always have. Furthermore, they also did give up some of their cans to the Auntie and gave her money also, which shows that when they became aware of the her situation, they also empathize with her and did the right thing.
huajing (host in yellow) is very chio! ![]()

they could have bought the cans from her..
even if they give her $2, i think she would be happy also lo..
coz i think a few cans can only sell for a few cents only.

What is the garbrament doing?
Where are the social workers?
Are they eligible for social help?

The student cried because she felt sad for the old woman. Im so glad our young generation is filled with empathy. We need them to form the next government!
