the smaller road get more congested, but now the highway is clear this is the purpose of the erp mah, to distribute the traffic, like from town, go serangoon/sengkang area, u can either use the highway or the little india route wat, so if the little india route gets too squeezy, that means the highway erp price should lower abit so more people will use the eway, like that will have ideal distribution right, but now what i see is that if this other route get heavy trafic very soon they will put a gantry there too, this totally defeat the purpoe mah, i quite irritated about the erp thing cos my grandma stays in chinatown, we go in or out also erp, go visit her also pay, from there go home also must pay.....

Making people take alternative routes .. what alternative routes ? Drive in those residential roads ? Make residential roads more congested ?
Oh, with the amount of traffic lights and stoppage along residential road and the need to watch out for kids, old peoples and bangala bicycles, i may loose out in petrol and time. You guys go ahead and drive alternate road, me go use ERP better. Time to change to BM instead of Lau po car.

ERP reduces traffic therefore less chances of accident, less chance does not mean no chance.
Speeding will still be there despite the cameras, but the speed limit of the tunnel will space out the vehicles, and also enable better e-braking for those who obey the speed limitation, which will be the majority.
Road price can be instantly updated on the gantries, so can telling motorist to stop right there in their tracks.
ERP reduces traffic therefore less chances of accident
but but but...
reduce traffic means faster driving speed mah
and faster driving speed means increased chances of accidents mah...
so final result I still blur... increase + decrease.... how? ![]()

lol damn that Raymond..
you think $$ can solve everything?!

Sorry.. but I really have to object.
Ok, bottom line:
ERP gantries are not safety features.
ERP gantries can be used for safety purposes.
Its not rocket science, but sometimes rocket scientist would find things hard to understand because they think too high.

Are ministers exempted from ERP ?

They even claimed that increased ERP in Chinatown area will bring more business to the shops there. But it is now confirmed that business has reduced by almost half.
Like how they claim that GST will help the poor and foreign workers will create more jobs for the citizens? ![]()

i want more ERP please!!!
If can, put a gantry outside my house!
Only those road that are honoured by our PAP govt shall built a gantry ERP. Your house road small fly type, PAP see also dun bother to see.

No, ministers can go thru ERP same as commoners. Except that the paying part is borne all by the commoners.
Next question please...and please dun ask simple question

The purpose of EPR in chinatown is to ask those shops around there to go bankrupt, then our govt can develope modern chinatown and remove all old ah peks, ah ma, houses, shops and massage parlours.
With the development, More Gst will incur thru construction and new business. These will help to create more jobs for foreign workers and the poors cleaners.

Wrong, all wrong, which school you come from leh!!!!!
Bottom line is
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!!!
I already foresee serious accidents forthcoming in this KPE with ERP indiosyncrasy...and another "this should not have happen, but it did... lets move on" scenario...
ERP limit cars in CBD area
ERP help Singaporean own more cars
ERP improve traffic flow
ERP for motorists safety
in future
ERP help Singaporeans make more babies
then when ERP start to become more and more
ERP is a tourists attraction now
ERP for president! ![]()
His real name is TEO SURE SUCK.
The MIW never fail to amaze me ...
my ERP charges are as follows.
0730-0800 $0.50
0800-0830 $1.00
0800-0855 $1.50
0855-0900 $1.00
and i only pass through them on tues-thurs.
PIE west-bound near woodsville flyover.
going to town is strictly train/bus. ![]()
ERP for the win! ![]()

Must wait for statistical results
When the number of babies start to increase in tandem with ERP gantries, then they will say ERP help Singaporeans make more babies
When the number of tourists increase further as ERP gantries increase, then they will say ERP is a tourists attraction

I never know that our government is so "concerned" for our safety leh! Wah... so damn proud and grateful of them!
Ha... if safety was a concern on KPE, they should not have built it. Want us to pay and get killed? Damn PAP!
I don't think slow speed prevents accidents.
Most of the time when cars are at slow speeds they are very close , nearly bumper to bumper. Then Accidents occur when they change lanes , some car have to jam brakes and the rear bumper gets broken.
Then there will be argument and slower traffic as the lanes will not be Enough in this instance.
Coming Soon, ERP lucky draw, first prize walk away with a brand new BMW 7 series. The more you use ERP, the more chance you stand to win.!!!! Hurry!!
Ok I'm confused.
Can any one tell me...
If the underground tunnels are hazardous when it gets congested...
Why they have to build it UNDERGROUND ? Why not a flyover instead ?
If I am not wrong a TUNNEL.. is more expensive than a flyover....
So tunnel.. is more expensive and more dangerous...why build it in the first place ????
I'm no engineer .. but will the expert like enlighten us ?

As a driver myself...
The congestion usually is a result of some bottleneck further up the road... if they can resolve the bottleneck problem .. they will prevent the backup of traffic into the tunnel...
So.. how does ERP help again ????
Our ministers have a weird way of resolving problems.
