How is their mastery of languages, since you know them well?

I believe I was the one who pointed out the flaw in the system.
That is a starting point.
I don't point out root cause, some people still go on futile "speak good english" camapigns.

also rojak mixture of melayu, english (malaysian), chinese, and teochew/hokkiens... for the majority...

malaysian national national schools use malay as the primary medium teaching language...
the chinese if not happy, can send their childrens to chinese schools... but still have to take their SPM (o level) and their SPTM (a level) in the national language
then y r u here?
aren't u just fishing for fishes in a fishless lake?
(if there are no solutions to look at...)
want to debate also debate logically and with sensibility, with solutions to boot about...
This discussion had been quite fruitful.
I pointed out the obvious flaws of the system and skythewood has given a link that provided useful policies to implement dual language programs.
You are being unreasonable Rednano.

I didn't start the thread.

skythewood also has Chiobu in his office....
The key to the problem is for PARENTS to enforce their children to speak proper english and mother tongue.
I disagree.
The main issue is education system.
Expect parents to enforce is naive in my opinion.
who is responsible for education of children?
A) teachers, education system
B) Parents
C) Both

So are you a police? Or you work in a job related to police? Ref:
who is responsible for education of children?
I would say B, parents.
But parents enforcing children to speak properly doesn't seem pragmatic to me.
The better solution lies with reforming education system.
It is flawed.
speak liao also cannot win 4D ![]()
Speak liao, still live in oppressive state.
Media still under state control, spread state propaganda, like "speak good english"; "take public transport"; "have more babies"; "eat potato"; "buy frozen meat"; "vote PAP";" go work as hotel maid"; "old still must work" etc.
Endless state propaganda.

Say no to oppression, vote PAP out.

I am a student, related to the police by VSC.
State media bombard me with endless propaganda, I only retaliate with one propaganda:
Lee Kuan Yew go and die now.
