Why do people still vote for PAP?

singaporeans vote for pap because they are complacent. they are conditioned to vote for pap despite complaining about them. singaporeans as a whole are risk-adverse and stick to what they know even if there might be better products out there.

Yep, just like when I was voting during my uni's union day. The fella tell me the format to vote was to vote like voting for PAP like that. Basically I answered that person, "What PAP? I voted for WP hor!"

Singaporeans vote PAP because they are under influence of PAP regime state propaganda.
This propaganda is bombarded to the voters daily.
So once they are under influence of PAP propaganda, they will vote for PAP.
The sad thing is that many are not aware they are under influence of PAP propaganda.
They do not understand they are fed one sided and biased shit on TV, Print and Radio.

We can describe these people as depoliticised people.
That is the goal of PAP propaganda.
Because if the general public opinion is politicised to the level that Taiwan public opinion is politicised, the PAP cannot hold on to power.
They can only hold on to power if the majority of people is depoliticised.
That is the only way.

He likes to repeat the view that Singapore would collapse once opposition takes over.
He keep on repeat and repeat and repeat and repeat and repeat.
He wants to drill in the propaganda into public's head.
So, this is how PAP regime state propaganda media wants to influence public to vote for them.
Of course once a person is politicised, this type of propaganda will have no effect whatsoever on opinion.
We know that is just horseshit by PAP regime.
But the trouble is that state media is also designed to depoliticise people.

Like it or not, its a part of his job, no matter what, he has to ensure that no opposition can challenge him. I dun blame him for all these, in fact, i am praising him for doing his job well. Propaganda is a part of Politics. It must exist inorder to wins vote.
So, let say if CSJ is the PM or MM now, do you think he is not going to propagate his party brand further, do you think he is not going to protect his party vote, it will be the same, if not worst. Sure he will control the media inorder to survive.
Oppositions are alway the underdogs, that is for sure, they got a higher mountain to climb, but if they can point out the faults, convince and justify to the people, they may win. However our opposition are like seating duck waiting for the cow come home type, very lifeless, so how on earth are you going to convince the people that you are good or better than PAP??
I am not saying that PAP is good, no party is perfect, mistake are make here and there. But the ironic of PAP ruling us for decades without a flinch of its strength and capabilities, i hv to salute to LKY for his determination to uphold his party even tho i dun really like him.

I know what you mean, I meet people like that. Many of them are shallow, inward looking. To such people, I try not to talk so much politics to them, I don't want to "dui niu tan qing", "playing music/tune to the cow".

Is'nt that what you people are doing here? I think most people know about it, but lets put it this way, if it was'nt for the PAP, we would'nt be what we were today. Don't forget our country's growth rate is by far faster than alot of countries. And i noticed something, everytime a foreigner says something bad about Singapore, he is very likely to be put down. Especially them Australians

but eventually, they will remain in singapore, cos no balls again
