i.e. If you own a company with an earning of say $200 and equity $1,000, your ROE is 20%. If say you own all the 1,000 shares, each share will give you a 20 cents (20%) earnings per share.
But if you release the 500 shares into the market, the market will trade up the price of your $1 share to say $2, thereby making your earnings per share of 10%. The winners are the original owners, they have already profited from the difference.
Yup... But SMRT already released IPO quite long ago right?
Now mkt sentiments not so good mah, so look for bargains lor...

Yah. But the intial profits from the IPO they already make, the share price already push up.
Now SMRT currently trading at $1.90, last year earnings per share was 9 cents, which gives a yield of about 4.74%.

Singaporeans it's not over yet there are more suffering awaiting for you. This is so called more good years for voting PAP.

Bus fare hike countdown....
i was against the idea of public listing public transport system in singapore. After the govt has profited from the investor the create some cronies call PTC to regulate the price. and there we are now, not knowing who should be responsible and why the need for price hike.
singapore is first class transport system if we can take off the FT from our bus and train ride so that every singaporean can have a seat comfortably.
kp all u want and it's not gonna change anything..
welcome to singapore....

But my dear Fuller, govt said we should embrace an open concept society, with racial harmony.
And privatising allow competitions that can enhance the economy and individual competitiveness, rather than completely state owned with an iron rice bowl mentality

Do you have various trains route simultanous run by few train company?
if not how can be talk about competitives among transport company?
by the way, it is call Fuhrer.

Hike Fuller!!,
Goten Morgan,
U can buy shares on SBS, trans land and smrt, that is call privatisation, whereas formerly state owned are so rigid and do not offer IPO or limited shares or no shares. All these companies are runs by CEOs with a management hierrachy system same as all other private/limited companies, the only different is that govt hold the most shares.
Any business man can set up a bus or taxi company if he meet all legal aspects in running a transport company here, but so far there aren't much people keen on it. So it is not that there are no competition.
My dear Fuller, if u wish to invest in singapore transportation by opening a bus company, i am willing to be your underwriter if not your personal PA.

why dont you provide the detail what it take for a private bus company to run as a public transport company? does that rules and regulation of it make it feasible for small company to survive? if not , where the competitiveness?
since i am against privatisation of public transport system, the shares only benefits the smaller minority of the population. in fact most of the share should be in the hands of major financial instituition.
once again it is fuhrer. dont act cute. coz u r not.

Hike! Fuller,
Basical, you can apply thru LTA and Singapore business association, get interviewed and lay out your blueprint plan, and most importantly how much are you going to pay your taxes to LTA, once agreed and accepted, buy buses, employ drivers and staffs, built interchange and start promoting your bus brands. like "Take Angel's Bus, and be served", not Bust ya.
I am not cute, but pretty and jovial gal, cute for what, got money meh?? and i used fuller to cover up our SS codes, otherwise the resistance may know your true identity.

well that enough to deter most small company from registering.
why not do away with most of the entry requirement, if they are sincere enough to talk about competitiveness.
anyway, no need to cover up what SS identity. we are here to talk about agenda not personal attack on the member of ruling party.

Hike!! Fuller,
In a business context, networking is important, to start a business in Singapore, especially in term of involving the public and govt sectors, u need 2 things, one being a super n finacially sound organsiation, the other being getting the right connection.
In the issue of transportation in Singapore, the singapore govt see it as a national level issue, a total disrupt of transportation can bring our economy and nation to it kneels, therefore govt involvement is naturally to ensure smooth running with no problem. If you look at our own Germany, one strike on bus services in 2002, the whole nation come into a standstill until the chancellor agreed to the Union demand of higher paid for bus drivers. We in Singapore cannot undertake such action to take place.
Therefore strict laws and criterias apply, as an SS woman officer, that is all i can let your know, my fuller, with all due respect, hope you understand the meaning of privatisation.
what does privatisation has to do with what u have said? does it explain the meaning of privatisation? anyway, u dont need to explain it. i understand it. i am against privatisation of public transport company.
if the strike can improve the income of drivers, i am all for it. isnt it part and parcel of the free labour movement? isnt free labour movement is part and parcel of the free economy?
yes the depot ruling regime wont allow it, but that doesnt mean it i not correct.
you are pro privatisation, i am against it.
anyway, acting cute is not the way to show respect. so dont act cute as if u r respecting someone.
