i think badawi want to have a direct control over the army and police if he needs to protect umno's grip of power.

But wasn't referring to the individual politicians, was actually refering to the Federal - State relations, a dual house Parliament, multiple State Assemblies independent of the Federal Parliament, component party relations within coalitions, etc in Malaysia
That was the basis used for comparison, but of course, there is no denying the complexities of Singapore's system or that of any other country

Quite frankly, don't quite care who becomes PM for as long as he/she can govern and lead the country, although Badawi is nevertheless preferred from a non-partisan point of view, however, all should be carried out through the ballot box and not by MP crossing over to the other side of the bench
Its unethical to cross over unless the MP resigns from his/her seat, but then again, this is politics
