Hello forummers,
1. I believe some SWFs invest heavily in USA and Europe.
Given the current Financial Meltdown, going forward how are they gonna perform?
2. If SWF do not disclose its investments with sufficient transparency, how can the world of investors assess its Financial Health / Status? Just believe? Just based on impression? Just suka suka?
3. Enlighten me, who shall bailout SWF? How shall this be funded?
regards
World of Audit and Transparency so bombastic until cannot

Top Five Reasons Why the Temasek managers should get a big Pay Increase
temasek invested about few hundred millions AUD in australia to buy a listed childcare center at AUD 2.50-2.70.
the company is now in trouble and share in trading at 50-60 cents AUD now.
the founders of the companys is leaving the center and company now in tormoil.
these millions lost will not be reflected in current balance sheets. you can see it next year.
it wont affect the average singaporeans directly. the way it can affect you is delay your CPF withdrawal age, reduce your CPF interest etc.
that is why we should be worry about it.
one doubt i have.
why people do not question where their money goes to?
why people do not question what is the risk of lack of sufficient transparency?
I think they must be slapped then they will wake up, so-to-speak, meaning, they must feel the pinch before they wake up.
my friend has his thinking as to why people so like dat:
. people earning $15k and above feel that income tax is low.
. people like above are busy with their work to think other things.
But even so, is there no need to question something that when something goes wrong, what they are enjoying now will be no more in future?
who would thought lakeman brothers so like dat?
if investments go bad in a big way, the money is all gone! kaput!
where does money flow into? invested in what? how much losses due to Financial Meltdown?
If big financial loss incurred, you think you can still enjoy?
Guess who shall bail them out?
seems to me, people can be highly educated but still naive and goondu in 1 way at least.

People who can't afford to lose should not have played.
