Hi,
If you agree, reply with yes. Else, reply with no.
Who is more effective as a leader of CASE for the People ?
regards
Bandit Dee Bee Arso
I am more interested to find out why is he doing what he is doing these days....
he shd stay retired.
why do you say that?

good and valid point.
you must have found some 'conspiracy theory' stories about the rise of these Activists and their real motives.
There is also mention that The Online Citizen writers are / were formerlly working as writers for the u-know-who . What is clear is their writing skills are as good as MSM ST newspaper writers ;)
1 thing for sure, their activities have been well covered by the MSM.
2ndly, their writers have been getting Mass Media appearances.
I do not see as much media attention given to LTK.
For now, I am observing the situation.
People have been disappointed too much by the Chi stories. Cannot blame them.
Yes, we must be vigilant and observe their every move.
People is the largest party , so-to-speak.
Lets question them to find out more.
I tried but got my posts deleted immediately each time I question TOC.
I think, to be responsible to the Public, they need to clarify once and for all.
Avoiding and deferring this question is not long term solution.
I think more things will come to light as we near 2011.
A person with common sense will know not to fully believe until they can answer the questions people have asked about their involvement and the real reasons behind these people stepping forward.
Who is for the People and
Who is working for their boss for personal advantage?
No idea man.
conspiracy theory continues...Paper cannot contain the fireball of truth.
It is not a surprise that the Government aka the Ruling Party has allowed the main Singapore Broadcast and Print Media to give publicity to the likes of ex-PAP annointed personalities such as Tan Kin Lian and Ngiam Tong Dow {retired Senior Civil Servant}.
These "politically safe" personalities speak boldly from their minds, and are used by the PAP to act as a "safety valve" to allow this over-controlled society to have a representative voice to ventilate the built-up frustrations and disappointments.
It is better to be criticised by someone whom you can control or moderate, then to be severely embarrassed politically by one's nemesis.
How can the PAP accept the idea of giving the same level of publicity to CSJ or to SDP as that given to these "politically acceptable" personalities approved by the PAP ?

my sentiments exactly.
i winced reading all the publicity given to TKL by the local media here as `championing the cause of the man in the street'.
all those who placed high hopes on TKL are hoodwinked.
TKL is more a headcase than a head for CASE...
i still remember his forays into the interweb on soc.culture.singapore where he was soundly hammered...
there was rumor about the reason for his 'retirement'.
i heard a rumor that he was involved in some kind of car insurance issue or something.
ok, no more info on this. the end.
and yes! the media has been very generous to him. i spoke to some of the 'protestors' at hlp, and a lady was singing the praises for him saying his blog good good and he has helped many people.
This ex-NTUC Income Chief certainly is no common man.
We should take note of this guy and hopefully we will know more about him and why he is stepping forward as we head towards 2010. I am sure by 2010 or 2011, we shall know better.
btw, what happened to Chi and that ex-WP indian guy ? I enjoy reading Chi's stories.

you should bid him goodbye ![]()
Who?? that uncle in the speaker corner ar??Aiya, that one talk cock and rock only lah, no problem if you want his head, if he cannot settle the Mini bonds case, someone is going to get his head for sure.
He is nothing but just act as a buffer for the govt. Damn, he got nothing to loose and perhap got paid handsomely for throwing rocks.
Once a person retires, logically he will just want to stay out of limelight and enjoy life.
So if a person chooses to champion something, either he seriously believe in a certain cause, or he has no choice but is "forced" (either morally or otherwise) to do so because if not, he may face consequence to "affect" his retirement, or he is doing it for his personal "redemption".
I don't know. I am just wondering the reason.
Lots of things happen in insurance industry... I have no idea what has happened and what he has seen before...
I believe Mr.Tan will be more "effective" when he distance himself from the Gov. Being head of CASE will not help.
I believe Mr.Tan has a genuine cause when he actually stands up there in the speakers' corner.
Mr.Tan has a column in My Paper and people on the street freely sends him questions and queries regarding financial stuff.
He in a way "sees" the issues faced by the man on the street. Sensing that he can help voice out in a way that the man on the street can't, he chose to "Stand-out" and "voice-out".
I don't think there's any conspiracy in it...
i dont see how is involved in helping man on the streets with lehman mini bonds has conpiracy theory on him linking with the ruling party regime.
i fact i beg to differ. what he is doing now definitely is not typical PAP style. that is silence all critics of all sorts and no protest of any scale.
