CNA today showed a news about the plight of Asian students looking for jobs.
Some interviewed say they will look for which country has jobs and go there to occupy that job.
Given Sg's FT policy is so bombastic, and the Sg is now in R E C E S S I O N , and its enticipated that SACKINGS could begin soon, and companies looking at cutting labor costs,
is it time our fresh grads , who have no experience, and batches of them keep coming out, face tough competition with all the foreign workers from all over the world?
Is there enough jobs to go around?
Foreign workers can accept 'lower' salary , maybe due to their motherland weaker currency, and they get to enjoy 1st world environment which is a plus for them, so coming here is win-win for them. These can easily be experienced workers where employers will certainly choose them so that they can get higher profit and maybe get more bonus at year end. So, who is gonna protect the local flesh and blood fresh grads given the FT Policy?

Also, companies can save on CPF contributions if they hire foreigners, and they are also saved the hassle of dealing with NS issues. I see a bigger influx of foreigners at all levels and in all sectors in the coming months.
Yes, it is a very obvious issue and I too am wondering why the government has kept mum and not forwarded any assurance.
one of my friends working in a foreign MNC told me that.
this foreign MNC are employing dozens of foreign management trainees ( fresh grads) and offer them $3500 as starting pay.
these MNC make use of singapore FTA, security, low taxes and employ foreigners to take up the jobs.
are their social responsibilities in these corporations?

MNCs tend to favour their own kinds from their own country. Giving them positions far higher that they are qualified for.
