Religion is for one's "private life".Religion should not be used as a standard to govern policy making.
It was due to the immense wisdom that the founder of modern Turkey had insisted that religion has no place in the political life of Turkey.
The present tussle between the Turkish Army - with the support of the legal fraternity - and the Islamic Party that formed the present day Government - was all about preventing the Government from breaking the rules of keeping Turkish Politics secular.
Muslims are humans too, and have their individual sets of values based on their religion.
Can a Muslim be objective in keeping his religion in his pocket and not allow the religious values to influence a political decision ?

Pls show some semblance of writing proper English first before trying to post something political. Your English teacher ought to get shot in the head.
The decision to appoint Malay/Muslim politicians in these non-glamorous or unimportant ministry roles are decided by the ruling party. So far these are the only two ministry portfolios that Malay/Muslim politicians are given to be in charge of. Its just another way of sidelining Malay/Muslim politicians so they would not be influential or "skilled" enough to take the top job. Unless this unwritten policy changes, we would never see a Malay/Muslim politician in a PM role.

if the party that the [supposed Muslim] PM is from is a secular party, then he will not be able to attempt to impose Islamic laws on the entire nation. The rules of law governing the state/country will still remain secular, and not Islamic.
SIngapore has no Islamic party, unlike Malaysia and Indonesia, for example. The multi-ethnic makeup of the political parties in Singapore would disallow for such a situation, methinks.

They know the present ruling party is bad, but there was no capable opposition waiting in the wings to take over the reigns of power. it's kinda a good idea...since in army they say that non chinese cannot handle security stuff because of the similarity of the neighbouring counties...
if the PM was a muslim, who knows it might bring peace around south east asia...
erm..peace as in no need worry about the water contract and whatsoever shit...and NEWater would never have existed...etc.
