becos those oil they brought was during it peak at US$150, there are still alot left over, they cannot make a loss at taking it as $60, it will take another oil price hike again for them to buy oil again
hell i say "yes".
But when the opposition Low Tia Kiang has the chance to force the Lee Hsien loong to sack WKS, he back down and keep quiet!
whether our opinion now will yield result or not, is not impt to me. the day will come.

because they can, but really isn't it getting kind of predictable? every time there's some bad news they increase something. and when good news comes for the rest of the world we get left behind. every now and then some hub thing comes up, the way this is going we might even be a casino hub.

Well, i think it unprofessional for a PM to ask an opposition if WKS should be sack, what Low brought out was a note of observation on the incompetency of the Home Ministry, whether LHL wants to remove who is of cos non of Low business. You may think Low make a cowardice move, but i think it is a smart move.
If i am the opposition at that time, i would've replied " I will be more delighted if the Boss of Mr Wks is removed, he/she protrayed an incompetency in delegation and appointment"
f i am the opposition at that time, i would've replied " I will be more delighted if the Boss of Mr Wks is removed, he/she protrayed an incompetency in delegation and appointment"
this is also what i hope WKS would have reply. but he dint.

She is my friend's friend. People are so sure about what they "see" and "hear" and go on to be taken in, shake my head, sigh.

That is why I said having oppositions in the parliament is as good as no oppositions at all. Low Tia Kiang and WP are hopeless. I was so sad when JBJ passed away. With his passing on, there really is no oppositions worthy of my support.

I share the same sentiment.
A forummer once said that he is WP supporter because there was only them to choose.
Thinking about it, I feel that more credible opposition can surface and replace inefficient parties , whatever it maybe. singapore has enough talents to form a new party to be the ALTERNATIVE LEADERSHIP kind of party. in my honest opine.

i dont believe in self responsibility. If you believe in alan greenspan his philosopy of financial instituition self regulation, we will be in another financial crisis soon again.
There must be watchdog, regulation to restrict the power of any form of authority or power. otherwise, corruption is always possible and will happen.

I remember when our late elected-president Ong Teng Cheong tried to do that and he was outcasted. somehow the function of a elected-president as a watchdog body was only for show

Well, if politicians should pay for their mistakes such as jailing and other forms of serious punishment, then in a democracy, we the people of singapore should pay for our mistakes as well, given that we are the ones who voted in those politicians.
The people responsible for a nation in a democracy, is the people of the nations as a whole. The entire community is responsible for the decision we make.

I cannot understand your theory.
Let say all the members in SGforum Committee appoint me as the treasurer. I lost some money in investment without the approval of the members and I walk away free. All the members are responsible for my action coz they appointed me?

no, appointment come after voting.
Appointment depends on qualification and management skills/experiences
Voting depends on leadership and popularitiy
I voted PAP, but i never appoint Wong Kan Seng to be the home affair minister.
