maybe it just me, during the national day rally, whenever he try to crack a joke, the whole forums broke into laughter.
somehow, it make me wonder, whether these ppl are lifeless singaporeans who had not had a better joke in their life, or they are just try to bootlick.
to me, the jokes he crack are tasteless, lame, darn fake and too try hard! maybe he simply lost touch with what kind of jokes will strike with the " hardlanders".--- ppl who fall hardest hit.
they laught because they are thinking, "what a lame joke", "that's so stupid" "My salary is like a million per year, can't stop laughing" "everybody is laughing, better make some noise."
mystery solved.
Sorry ,I laughed.
5 When Mr Goh Chok Tong asked me to stand for elections in 1984, I was relectant. I was then in the army, serving as a regular. I was a single parent, with two young children. Entering politics was not in my mind. But Mr Goh persuaded me. He has guided me since as a mentor and a friend, for which I am personally grateful.

Something doesn't quite add up when you analyse the chronology of events. ![]()
Sometimes the smell of bullshit can tickle the funny bones in the body.
When Stalin or Saddam pauses in a speech, it is the cue for the people to clap. They must all clap or they, or their immediate family members shall be executed without trial.
Looks like our beloved ministers have taken this up another level.

make me think of myself years ago.
During my NS days, there some secretary of defence( cannot remember his name la). visiting our camp. we are force to attend.
all high rank officers sit up front. during the speech, he crack some joke that only the top rank officer laugh out laugh and some even clap their hands. we the lower rank, look at each other and wondering what the hack he joke about.
moral of the story, i convince me not to seek a career at govt ministries or stats boards. Coz i prefer lady A.. than theirs!!

Well, there's always a difference between laughing with him or laughing at him...

reminds me of my parade during reservist, the rsm shouted at the battalion and told us we suck and should feel ashamed of ourselves and we don't deserved to be here totally ignoring the fact no one wants to be here listening to someone we don't know. heck, no one even wants to be in this battalion.
