According to Lao zi "The difficulty in governing the people arises from their having too much knowledge, and therefore he who tries to govern a state by wisdom is a scourge to it, while he who does not try to govern thereby is a blessing."
Hence, it is stupid fro govt to invest heavily in education, for with the knowledge, we may over throw them.
Maybe I can suggest this to PAP!
That is true, know too much, become too politicised, will be hard to control.
Compare Taiwan and Singapore.
Which people easier to control?
Lee Kuan Yew uses the strategy of depoliticising the people to keep them under control.
Dissidents like JBJ, Chee, chop off their head to scare monkey.
It has worked well, still in power after 50 years.
To survive a year, plant padi
To survive a decade, plant trees
To survive a century, educate the people

pap knows this very well and it is already adhering to this doctrine!

They having being practising it since they came to power.
I thought Singapore government is investing heavily in education, including promoting of internet through broadband usage.
Well, in my opinion we are not the most jialat case. At least we do agree with many ppl of the world that our govt is not very transparent. We are still able to distinguish what is Singapore and what is PAP.
Unlike PRC, the communist govt really did what Lao zi said....in full power!!
Many of the prc regards criticism made to their govt as an attack on the entire chinese ppl. They are not able to distinguish themselves and their govt.

Having an education do not just involve how to perform a job, it involves critical thinking, courage to stand up for your right.
It is untrue that Singapore Government invest heavily in giving Singapore Citizens world class education at all. I can only say that the Government is extremely successful in the production of SALVES to make money for country.
Singaporeans eats less than a pig, but do more than a bull. (At least the pig's got to be well fed before they are slaugthered). In short, the Citizens of Singapore faces a fate worse than an animal.
Lao Zi is an ancient piles of bones who thinking and ways do not fit into modern age anymore. It is based on a system of Emperors rules over the citizens.
We have our rights, nobody in the world cares about the plight of Singaporeans. Our existence is pathetic.
Out of the top 10 soveriegn wealth funds, Singapore has two of them in the top 10. When are we going to see some benefits or welfare for Singaporeans?
Singaporeans have a saying of "You can die, but not get sick in Singapore" . I dare the PAP to challenge this common knowledge.
