In spite of repeated exhortations by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and MAS Chairman Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong to the investors to lodge their complaints to the financial institutions and FIDReC, over 600 investors turn up today at Hong Lim Park to deliberate on a collective class action suit against the banks.
The crowd is obviously larger than last week’s and there is a palpable tension in the air this time. 7 ou of 10 investors we spoke to are unconvinced that they will get a fair settlement from the banks and FIDReC and are seriously considering taking legal action.
Many from the DBS highnote5 and highnote2 group claimed that they have received official replies from DBS stating they have “no case” to stand on. Said Mr Seah L K, 60: “No point meeting them, whatever they said is rubbish, I just want to know whether they are going to pay up, that’s all !”.

When people come together, they become organized... that is the beauty of assembly.
These despot's are so blinded by their own propaganda, they think that they are doing such a good job and deserving such massive amounts of public money they take, they think that even if they open up Hong Lim, nothing will happen.
It is the ass-dogs' fault for giving them sh!t in gift-warpped boxes and giving them orgasms from licking their anus, making them think that it is ok for them to take massive amounts of public money.
It is the asspots' fault for persecuting dissidents and opposition instead of addressing their concerns.
lawsuit against the banks?
i doubt they stand any chance.

Right only Dr Chee Soon Juan's tactics can have a chance of success like in Hong Kong.
Skarly they sue and end up like Nair... "

the O$p$ on the silver umbrella is damm funny la!
It also reflects the state of mind of most Singaporeans - they will only stay up for themselves when their pockets hurt, but at the same time still got to take umbrella and cover face..wait scarley kana caught on candid camera then siao liao..

Uncle,
Why never send Dr chee to Hongkong, better prospect for him.

Who to believe? Over 600?
I think about about 200 of them are onlookers and kpoh only, most of these are the old men who got nothing better to do and also poor due to PRC gals and or no saving type.
It is time for them to view how the middle and upper class singaporeans is going to challenge the govt.
Just to point out :
1. Out of 10 000 persons whose personal pockets were hurt in this fiasco,
a mere 10% out of all these signed up the petition, despite about 1 month long of meetings at HLPark.
What does this mean? what does this say?
Even when own personal retirement or coffin money at stake...
2. I personally interviewed many at HLP over the last few Saturdays and found that a significant portion of these investors were IT ILLITERATE and not IT Savvy (never seen an internet browser nor touched a mouse) AND some English ILLITERATE in 1st world singapore. Believe it or not. And yes, they have quite a chunk of their life long savings sunk in. How net savvy are singaporeans ? this fiasco gives some indication.
3. These investors TRUSTED too easily. Why ? Cultural / Environmental reasons? Nurtured to be naive (by their parents)?
4. A Strong sense of real fear exist in the people who appeared at HLP. Its intense and overpowering. Fear not just of loosing their money if you know what i mean.
Also, have given up totally on LTK and Sylvia and SKH and Chiam.
I do not foresee any significant change for 50 more years.
Have applied for skilled migration which may take 6 months to 2 years to process. Just nice. Backup plan. But then, this is just me. You continue to enjoy more good decades. and ignore the bad news but keep repeating the good news to yourselves. Its good for mental.
Jingo bells Jingo All the way!

What does this mean? what does this say?
This means that the rest 9,400 peoples involved are under either the rich or IT savy and educated or the younger ones.
1.This also show that out of 10,000 peoples in singapore, only 600 are illiterate. That is about 6% illiteracy in Singapore, qualified to be the first world standard that fall under 10%.
2.Professional speaking, Professional/skill migration is also an indication of first world citizens ability to go global more easier than other third world citizen standard.
So all these prove that we are in the 1st world status.
Gingko nut Gingko nut...gingko all the way, gingko nut gingko nut , good for brain and migraine

i think this fiasco reveals what kind of govt we have. In HK when the issue erupted the head of govt, Donald Tseng, and the Financial Secretary almost immediately came to the fore to offer help to the people but our head of govt and MAS chief were deafening silent. May be our govt is too busy counting money to have time for the people.

Yes, I think that is true.
I will never believe in or trust PAP again.
Previously I still support PAP 30%.
Now is 0%.
This Lehman debacle has clearly revealed to me the true colours of PAP regime.

Mas Selamat debacle also handled poorly.
its already possible to use a digital camera to stream 'live' video to websites.
I hope someone would do this for mass gatherings like that in HL park to reach out to more people like those overseas and those shy to attent these meetings.
I wonder is this legal and what it takes to do this?
LHL demo it on nday rally leh.
