Singapore, being such a depoliticised and politically repressive state, I was wondering how many people will die die support PAP.

They are just registered republicans or democrats.
They subscribe to the ideologies each party represents.
They not treat the parties like their gods.
Even a registered democrat can vote for a republican , so it's according to what kinda policies they dish out.

Besides their life stages and income level, their religion also plays a part.anyway, the choice is just republican or democrat, there are no communists, no parties dominated by other religion than Christianity.

Republican are more business like, outgoing, care more on the dollars and cents issues and also focus more on foreign policy liket he iraq or afganistan, n koreas..etc etc, it flavor the business peoples in USA, it expanded the trade and make business worldwide and protect its interest in a worldwide perspective. Democrat tends to protect their own domestic interest, kind of more toward it own citizens and workers, not that outgoing, do not wish to sub out jobs to overseas countries, tend to be more conservatives and lean.So, with the current financial crisis, war and US army death in the middle east that the republican created under bush, Obama look for flavorable to retore all this issues than Big Mac Cain who are more or less same as Bushy kind of governing. So, for a change, people dun mind try out Obama..just like my ah ma said "White or black cat also nevermind lah, as long as cat catch mouse, it is a good cat"
