I don't know about anything before this. But I know that since i came to sgforums.
If I go to a bar and if I like the place, I will settle down for a drink and chat with friends.
If I start seeing some people brawling, calling each other names, and if they don't stop, I will probably walk out eventually. Sooner or later, some one will lose their mind and some ugly thing may happen and police, in the name of law and order, will shut down the place.
I try not to be too paranoid/suspicious in my thinking that some of these people who are screaming in the bar are not planted by owner of a competing bar....

it did not started with name calling.... it started with "why is it that when folks write anything even mildly pro-PAP, they get hit with : go post in the PAP website" and these anti-garmen folks can continue to post anti-garmen topics....
and of course, not only were there no answers, name calling starts.

It is subjective as to sg is a good place to live. Basically, it can be considered a good place to live as it is pretty safe to walk around the streets late nights, there is religious harmony, racial harmony. Don't deny the govt is doing a good job in maintaining religious and racail harmony here. Other than that, it is all about money and cents in singapore.

may I take the iniative to add: good and nice place to live here when the people are young and educated, and with lots of money to meet up with the demand of constant rising costs.

Would it then be good for costs to come down? After all, a lot of people owns property and other assets. When costs come down, it is likely that the asset value comes down as well...

I am really not sure how is the ruling party doing about it. Economy may possibly be affected partially by outside factors. As for the property price, it can be controlled within singapore. But now it is only the private property that is down, HDB flats are still high.
