M'sian PM question if our Sovereignty is worth only 3 sens

The Malaysian Prime Minister Mohamed Mahatir responded to Singapore’s Foreign Minister Prof Jayakumar’s statement that the “Water Issue is not merely about the price of water, whether it is 3 sens or 45 sens, but more about the Sovereignty of Singapore”.
The ingenuity of the Malaysian Prime Minister begins to show the guile lurking not too far beneath the image of a self-assured genius.
In a CNA report this Thursday evening, he appeared on Malaysian TV asking if SingaporeÂ’s sovereignty is measured by a water agreement worth 3 sens per 1000 gallons?
He must be the only comedian in South-east Asia to become a Prime Minister, who hope to be a "Moderate Modern Muslim Leader for the Islamic World"; as well as taking the leadership role to form “Asia as the Third Voice in the World’s Stage”.
It looks like the stage of buffoons is most befitting him, when he retire from politics, and he can have his Foreign Minister Syed Hamid Albar to be his side-kick.
They will make a wonderful pair.
Without even addressing the main issues revealed by the release of the letters between himself and our Singapore Government leaders, he went on to say that the release of those letters would be similar to "oneÂ’s girl friend releasing all the love letters to all her other boy friends for their entertainment."
It would seem that both the Malaysian Prime Minister and his Foreign Minister are now trying to control the damages done to their credibility, by deflecting attention from the contents of those letters by casting doubts to purpose and integrity on SingaporeÂ’s part in releasing such letters of confidence.
They fail to appreciate the fact that SingaporeÂ’s Foreign Minister has said that he has been forced by circumstances in which Malaysian Government Leaders continuously mislead the Malaysian Public through the Media, with distorted information that portray Singapore as the DevilÂ’s Advocate in all the matters that have gone wrong between Malaysia and Singapore.
There is little hope of any amicable relationship to be restored as long as these two Malaysian Government Appointed Leading Comedians are in Office.
We can only hope that better sense will return with the next successor taking over the seat of the Malaysian Prime Minister Office. -
It has always been the same for ages with Malaysian political pride, when caught with egg on their face, they don't bother to "save face", they "make it up" and hope nobody notices the shoddy patchwork that's their political facade... Sadly, their people choose to overlook this "slight" infraction, their minds already sadly narrowed by their flaring emotions...

It is cheap and unhanded reply shot at the brilliant defence by Singapore when it released of legal doc, letters and references to their past accusations last week. Is this the way to conduct oneself as a premier of a country by highlighing another's economy gloom while the most of the world isn't performing either ?

i would rebutt him by asking him if malaysia's honour, integrity and global standing worth a mere 6 ringgit per 1000 gallon of raw water...

lastly... the real question is not the price of the water as singapore FM has stated very clearly... its about the sanctity of a bilateral sign and agreed agreedment...
if happy happy can just dont want to accept.... an agreedment ... then no point signning anything with malaysia, including the separation agreedment... thick skull leh...
finally... can singapore also null and void the separation agreedment and demands mahatir to hand over malaysia to singapore?? -

Actually he sniped us by saying that is our sovereignity just worth 0.5 cents (if u read his lines carefully). In that case, is Malaysia's face and national interest worth just a mere RM 6.22 ? (the difference between 3 cents and RM6.25)

I was still amused over Datuk Hamid Albar's comments that it is not the gospel truth. For someone like him, that might be considered a "meek" response. -
