I'm totally amazed by the discussions.
From "is death sentence neccessary" to " which drug is not as harmless then the others". So what if the drug Cannabis is less harmful? Does it make the death sentence less unneccessary. There's a reason as to why a law is made. And why other countries as well prohibits drugs. Its just that singapore takes a much more tougher and intolerable stand as regards to this issue.
I agree, 20 yrs old is a little too young to be hanged. But if you are trying to debate in the direction as to whether drugs (or specific drug) are less harmful, or may not be as harmful as alcohol etc, then there's no point arguing anymore. I repeat, there is a reason as to why people classified drugs as dangerous, so as to all your reasons trying to say its not, its totally redundant and useless.
So what if Marijuana is not addictive? A 2007 study by the Canadian government found cannabis smoke contained more toxic substances than tobacco smoke. and other bad effects as well. Take a look at wikipedia. Anyway, i'm not here trying to debate whether marhuana itself is bad or what. I agree with you that human rights is important. But i do not feel that our singapore government is in any way trying to interfere in human rights? At least I'm a singaporean, i don't feel that. If you want total human rights, then we might as well abolish all laws in all countries, because we got the freedom to do what we want right? Then police will be redundant isn't it? Cause, when people kill, its their choice!
That should be a boundary and an extent to everything. Yes, i agree s'pore stance is tougher, but if singapore wants to made it a death penalty, then you jolly well have to abide with it. If you are in s;pore, you have to abide with our rules. Just like when you are in school, you have to abide with school rules. I should say, singapore has done a good job in deterring drug activities in singapore.

Secondly, how do you assert that the cause of death was from marijuana overdose (which can't happen) from that tale? Oh the deceased was skinny and unemployed so surely there is no other explanation than that he was starving himself to save money for cannabis as there is no other reason why someone could be underweight and unemployed. Stop jumping to conclusions.
Did I said its marijuana?
And did you know what canabis is?

Lets suggest you like horror movies. After some time, will you keep watching the same time of horror movies of the same storyline, or you will want something a bit more different and exciting where you dont know when that ghoul is going to suddenly pop up?
Or a movie with some extra psychotic killer in that ghost horror movie?
Look at Aliens movies, the aliens evolved right?

Please stop using a strawman argument and the fact that fictional aliens evolved over the course of a movie series (honestly, I really have no idea why you are even using this) as counter-evidence to actual scientific and statistical evidence.
Oh and I think you've missed another part of my post, again copy and pasted for your convenience.
Marijuana does not cause people to use hard drugs. What the gateway theory presents as a causal explanation is a statistic association between common and uncommon drugs, an association that changes over time as different drugs increase and decrease in prevalence. Marijuana is the most popular illegal drug in the United States today. Therefore, people who have used less popular drugs such as heroin, cocaine, and LSD, are likely to have also used marijuana. Most marijuana users never use any other illegal drug. Indeed, for the large majority of people, marijuana is a terminus rather than a gateway drug
And jondi.
If you need to examine my credentials or my past written statements and log sheets and interview my fellow volunteers about those experience.
I can arrange it.
Are you actually game to meet up and do all those things?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA.
I'm sorry but I actually laughed out loud when I read this. Again, you show how truly stupid you are and how you know absolutely nothing about drugs. Marijuana and cannabis is the same thing, you poor thing.
Please stop the discussion now before you make yourself look any more foolish.

In that case, maybe you can bring up this whoever doctor to come to Singapore to appear in Paliarment and suggest that marijuana be legalised in Singapore.

I dont know. You are the one playing with words there. If I recalled, you were the one saying marijauna cannot be in powder form.
And since you stated that it cannot be in powdered form, makes me kinda feel sad for you with you laughing at others for your lack of experience.

When did this happen?
Lots of things happened and was typed when you were still trying to grow. I believe.

How amusing, somebody who doesn't know that cannabis and marijuana aren't the same thing is calling me out for lack of experience.
Marijuana can be ground up but it cannot be extracted to a powder.

Marijuana can be ground up to a powder-like but it cannot be extracted to a powder.
And I never typed ever that the discovery of that powder was extracted did I?
I thank you though for mentioning the powder issue in my defence. Abeilt not intentionally, but still in my defence.

The reason the law is in place is because of the United State's initial stance against marijuana which was founded on racism and corporate monopoly as hemp was an extremely effective source of alternate renewable energy and the big businesses didn't like that. Read this for more info:

And in 1995, after thirty years of scientific research, British medical journal Lancet concluded that "the smoking of cannabis, even long term, is not harmful to health."

So have you migrated over to Holland yet?

Hardly, marijuana can be ground up but that still does not mean it comes in powdered forms. Even after thorough grinding it will not have the consistency to be considered a powder. So your tale is still highly unlikely and probably made up.

And I invited you to verify whether I am not as I mentioned.
Yawns......
Is grinded coffee beans considered a powder or still beans?

Coffee beans can be ground to a powder, marijuana cannot. Conclusively, your story is full of shit.

*Shake head and laugh*
To read this and wonder about how someone can suggest I found cannabis powder and suggest its marijuana, and then to suggest that marijuana cannot be a powder, but mentioned its possible to be a powder, and now that it cannot be a powder to suggesting it cannot be a powder.
So say the person that cannot deal with truths then.
I cannot say I've never asked that you can verify the sources of my story.
I also cannot say I've never tried to be reasonable and polite.
But I can say some people just want to win their argument at all cost, heck care the people that is in the real world.

1995??? got something more current or not???
if you go back further.... opium was consider ok too....
Ok lah.
Remember what I typed about confused regards to relationship of marijauna to drug and the medical facts of marijauna?
BTW, a doctor wrote a medical journal does not mean he is a medical doctor.
When I suggest grinded coffee, I mean the powder is very coarse.
Not that the canabis is grounded.
And grounding is produced by blades, not by stones.
Blades means knives.
And knives means cutting the cannabis up.
Is that more understand-able?

It cannot be considered a powder. So I repeat again.
Coffee grounds are powder or coarse powder or powdery powder?
