Luckily at that time, they didn't have some funky rule that restricted all kids to go to PAP childcare.
I'm pretty sure there is no such thing, yet, right?
there isn't a need. afterall, its only 2 years, as compared to the 6+4 or 6+5 years.

what else do you have to contribute other that saying fierce? If you want to start a topic like this, be prepared to allow people to voice out. Do you mean you don't feel comfortable that I voice out the facts and truth? fault finding?? There are many other stronger comments and posts why didn't you tell them they are fierce? Don't need to find fault lah.

I am sorry but r u speaking as generally or minority? Golden spoon? If i got that freaking spoon in my mouth, i wun be working right now.

no wonder you always seem to be on the opposite side.
me not from PAP kinder
aiya don need to complain about our PAP. When singaporeans can stand out/voice out as a whole then we can start talking. the press plays an important role but i believe education plays an even more important role. Do u remember when u voice out in class our teachers will scold us and it has become a habit of not voicing out anymore. and gradually we accept what the government says whether we like it not.. My lecturer once walked out of the class he is teaching because he said that we are like dead fishes who just listen and listen and listen. even when he said we are stupid we just kept quiet. its only when i visted him in his office and asked him to explain why he made that claim then he told me he did it on purpose because he wanted someone to stand out and object. but no one did!! a very gd example.

potong pasir chiam's kindergarden
woah. cheebye.
now then i realize.
hahaha...lucky I never go to PAP de kindergarden...
not brainwashed yet...hahaha
I lived in the opposition ward since I was born
I was not send to PAP Kindergarden, nearest is at Aljunied GRC
Most of the time I will see WP members and LTK doing more walkabouts in the estate than the PAP or whatever members...
It doesnt matter whether one is brainwashed or not. The point that the PAP can still exploit the citizenry is proof of their power and influence. So what if most of the people aren't "brainwashed". Since the PAP has control over the Police, Army and the Law, any real change will remain elusive.

well, i am not comparing you with a guy who into a household living in Orchard Road....
i am comparing the youths nowadays against the times of your parents and grand parents....
how many kids above 12 do not have a mobile phone, some kind of game console, some kind of computer (one or more) at home.... sure there will always be the have-nots, but reality is, many kids nowadays (including many living in 2 to 3 room flats) have a maid to fend for them.
the fact that you are banging notes on your computer and not out on the streets hawking some food stuff is an indication that you have a better life than your ancestors.

don't need to respond with crap. What you are doing is like telling a lie and then tell the person not to mind that you told a lie. go learn English before you talk to me. What is fare up? This cannot be found in dictionary.
So what if you don't like the govt, when I voice out indirectly my dislike for them you not happy. I not "fare up" as you wrote, please brush up your English, it is so atrocious!

In the past, life was simple and i do agree ppl are easily contented with things .... I am 25 this yr and hey i have my fair share of poverty too .. But those who are born like 1990 and above yeah is having pretty good life now .. But u need to put into consideration how technology has improve and how fast pace is the working life nowadays compare to the past.
About the fact that someoen banging the keys on the keyboard is an indication of being good life ? Ok, let compare the past and now .. How many shops are there for rent in the past (i mean during our parents generation) Not much i will said .. Econmy is not realli that good then.
Its almost impossible to see streets hawker nowadays .. Cos there's much more employment compare in the past and now .. Having a shop now also doesnt mean u are having a good life too .. Who know that person is making a loss for all u know.
Thru out the years life has improve for us but it has reach a point whereby the ERP and stuff are getting from bad to worst.

I'm actually the same age as you but i don't see why technology has anything to do with it besides making us less tolerant of discomforts. In the end it really depends on your perspective on what is fast paced or not, but i'm sure it's not going to beat my grandfather carrying ricebags everyday under the hot sun and heavy rain.
The problem is we are going have to face the fact that we're not going to be able to make the kind of jump from poverty to fortune the way our grandparents did. It's a physical fact rather than the incompetence of the PAP government.
It's just like doing Pull ups in NS, in BMT the amount of pull ups you can do will greatly increase but once you pass out you will start to realise each additional pull up is going to take more training and effort than the previous one.
Right now we are already close to our limit, where each % of growth is taking vastly more effort than the previous. There is no such thing as unlimited growth.
Whether something is bad or worse is a matter of perspective. I enjoy taking walks and i feel cars are hardly a neccessity in Singapore so the ERP hardly affects me. I like my job and my colleagues, and i enjoy being able to treat my relatives to the occasional lunch.
I control my spending and make sure there is a clear line between need and want. I don't have problems getting food or drinks and my water and electricity is uninterrupted. I don't just live within my means, i live below my means.
When you think something is bad, you make it easier for you to accept information to support the belief that it is bad giving the impression that it is worse. So whether you feel life in Singapore is getting harder or not is whether you want to believe that it is
That's my take on it.
