This is not a country bashing.SG is facing serious drop in jobs ads too!!

ST Saturday Recruits become thinner and thinner.
In the peak good time,Strait Times Recruit Executive and Classified advert
amount to 70 pages (page number as appear in the paper).Now is around
40 to 50.The job marekt in SG is really bad.

I have this message for would be Oz PR---not so rosy in Oz.
Pl read this from a survey of ANZ bank,one of Oz major banks.
Since last December(lion note--2007), job ads in newspapers have plunged 52 per cent, falling 14 per cent last month alone.
It was the weakest annual rate of growth since ANZ began surveying job ads in 1975, and worse than the drop in ads during the 1982 and 1991 recessions.--EOQ

is 14,800,dropped 35 % from 3 months average 22,626 in 2007.

The severity of the fall in job advertisements means the Federal Government's forecast of a 5 per cent unemployment rate by June by "too optimistic".
ANZ expects the Government to revise unemployment predictions higher in the May Budget, and tips a jobless rate of 6 per cent this year.
