The greedy businessmen singapore politicians are getting worse to worst.
Fat fingers!
It seems the government got a bad press, handcuffing the poor chap who faces prosecution for what he did to MP Seng Han Thong (by the way he was my MP and I totally understand why he could have been attacked on two separate occasions).
I'm glad people are speaking up more about how much displeasure they have right now with the government but I wish they would be active - join your residents committee, get involved, bring changes if you really want to see them. I used to have my 65er co-worker (one of the top brains in the bank I used to work in) who would chastised me for not appreciating what Harry Lee had done for the country. I tend to think maybe a lot of the forum contributors here are post-65ers and so they are dissatisfied with the situation.
What explains the current mood towards the government? Would the PAP be voted out in the next election? I know it's unthinkable because so many people can't even get to vote.

Harry stated that he will not allow anyone to show no respect for his MPs, so it is no surprise at all that they give such treatment to the old man. Harry, son and gang are placing themselves first before the nation.
We definitely don't need such politicians to run the country. We need politicians with a heart to serve public as top priority over their selfish interests and benefits.
Many are awaiting for the demise of the old stinky evil greedy cunning old fox who to many his existence on earth is overdue.
Join residents committee?? I have neighbours who are members and was told that they are asked to write report on people, neighbours and surrounding. Sounds like spying on the residents. No point joining residents committtee.

Happy New Year, jo. How's unemployment rate in the US?
Yah! I have noticed a couple of people in the forum cursing him and wishing death comes early for him!
People are willing to take risks to break the law to register their displeasure - latest incident being the defacement of the wall near to Parliament. I thought it might be related to how angry they treated the 'unstable' resident who 'attacked' S.HThong. But definitely, from these reports, I get a sense of how dissatisfied everyone has become of the father and son.
Yes, these are facts and reality but they will not be voted out in the next election. It will take years or even generations to get PAP out of their reign judging from the kiasi kiasu singaporeans.
No, I'm not a gahmen nor any scholar, just someone who thinks she's very lucky to have had the opportunity to get out of singapore and realise what a propaganda she has been living in. Granted, Singapore is a fantastic place to make money and keep the money (because of low taxes). However, people are so fearful of speaking up and they have to express their anger with the government by committing vandalism. I hope they spare this vandal. It's good press for them.
in sg, vandalism is a crime. Pay and pay is very lenient to themselves but very harsh to the nation who feed them. Pay and Pay are above everything and everyone in Singapore. They ignore the fact that they are voted in by the people, very ungrateful!
Father and son don't give a damn to good press, if they are then they won't be so many case suits that allow them to earn so much $$$

Hi Fantagf,
Happy new year.
Unemployment in the US ? It's growing steadily.
Lucky me. Even when people are unemploy.. they still need to answer nature's call. Hahahahah......

Good for you. Hope with Obama situation will improve a little. Not realistic to expect economy to pick up so fast.
Here in sg, the Pay and Pay allows increase in the bill for residential phone line in the midst of this recession. They are really "kind" to us.

I have one aunty who is damned rich with a few condos in both Sg and Malaysia but even she is fed up having to pay exorbitant property taxes and medical fees (she compares it with Malaysia) in Singapore.
I told her rich people like her should not complain for herself (it is right to complain on behalf of the majority of fellow Singaporeans but not for herself), but when even the rich gets fed up, over money of all things.... the situation is damned sad... and the curses have to flow (for the persecution of dissidents and opposition to promote their selfish interests over that of the country).
