If the government can make land expensive in singapore, they can jolly well make some plots of land cheap for the building of nursing homes in singapore (or any other things they deem necessary).
It's a matter of whether they want to or not.
Don't give me the bull crap saying land can only be expensive in singapore because prices are determined by the government themselves.

Alot of people disagree to put aged parents in JB. But if your loved your parents why put them in homes for the aged in the first place. You should lived with them and take care of them as what they have done for you. Parents are our responsibilities and I am sure most of you when old, do not want to stay in such homes. For those who do send their aged parents to the homes for the aged, are selfish and have no sense of responsibilities. Remember, your children may treat you the same when you are old.

allo, no matter what LKY will not end up in old folks' home. There will be people willing to take care of him if need be. I doubt very much LKY wants to be in old age home. -

If Singaporeans put their old folks in Johore, then they have only themselves to blame, not anyone, but themselves, because they choose to put them there. They can don't put them there, but they choose to put them there. Same way they can don't go to JB or Malaysia, but idiots Singaporeans still choose to JB and the rest of Malaysia, for shopping, entertaining, driving, leisure, fruits, makan, medical treatment, car repairs, car modifications, and just about everything else and now old folks home - even though there is long queues at the Customs and Causeway, they get robbed, slashed, spit upon, criticised, looked down upon, cheated, scammed, belittled,etc. So at the end of it, those idiot Singaporeans who do this should only blame themselves and not complain if they did not get the benefit they wanted.

Oh good lawd, this is wrong on so many levels. Singaporeans who put their parents in nursing homes are selfish SOBs (extreme situations permitting). They only visit on weekends because that is all they can be bothered doing. Put them in JB, and those weekends will turn into public holidays every few months.
On one hand we have a push for the elderly to work beyond their years, till the moment they drop. On the other hand they expect us to ship the elderly out of the country the last few moments of their lives between being able to mop a floor and death!
Yes, I've read above that it's a matter for each family to decide in their own circumstance, but he was completely gleeful at the monies that could be saved. It comes across that moneys saved is the one and only one factor. FFS, what kind of CB son or daughter would send their non-moppable granny through customs in an ambulance?? What next, strapped onto the back of a motorcycle because it's another 2.5 times cheaper? Money is everything for these people, absolutely everything.

I think for those local putting their old aged parents in Malaysia have received plenty of criticism and the best wayy for those children is to sell or rent out their flat n buy a
property in Malaysia and stay with their old aged parents, in this manner they will not faced harsh criticism from all sector.
