Prime Minister Kevin Rudd - Australia
Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia , as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks..
Separately, Ruddangered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques. Quote:
'IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali , we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians. '
'This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom'
'We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society . Learn the language!'
'Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.'
'We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us.'
'This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom, 'THE RIGHT TO LEAVE'.'
'If you aren't happy here then LEAVE. We didn't force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted.'
all i want to say, instead of asking singaporeans to be tolerant with foreigners. It should be the foreigners who should make an effort to merge into singapore. If cant adapt, please leave, so that other who can adapt and willing to adapt can work/ stay in singapore.
I dunno man, maybe he's someone Singaporeans would want. But someone who makes statements like that don't strike me as the sort we would need.

BUT WAIT? i thought singapore was an malay fishing village in the first place? so how can we ask them to leave?
if leave must be we non-malay to leave first.. and lets see how they collaspe
I don't know if something of the sort is required in Singapore, but over here in Australia, we've had a number of Muslim clerics abuse their freedom of speech by advocating crap like jihad, separatism and wife-beating. None of that fits in with Australian culture and there's no reason we should have to tolerate it.
I wasn't a big fan of Kev's when he got voted in - I personally felt that the apology to the Aboriginal population would open up the floodgates to a whole lot of bills that taxpayers would unnecessarily be lumped with. As he's gone along, though, he's gone up in my estimation.
I agree with his message 100%. If you go into someone's house as a guest and complain about everything, don't be too surprised if you're asked to leave. Same thing applies here.

Ah... remember the furore that was caused a while back when a Muslim clergy insinuated that the scantily-clad Aussie ladies were 'slabs of meat' asking to be raped?
That was horrible! I thought then that if they can't live and let live, then they should simply not come here at all because you don't visit someone else's house, tear down their curtains and destroy their furniture and redecorate! ![]()

One of my Aussie friends told me this shocking thing - that her bosses preferred to work with Malaysians instead of Singaporeans, because the latter complains a lot. ![]()
I agree with him.
When in Rome, do as the Romans do.
U chose to come here, you chose to stay, so if you dun like it, get out.
I'm sick and tired of people trying to force their religion on me.
There's a Malay saying "When you're in a Pig farm,Be like a Pig"
Overall i feel Singaporean Malays are quite tolerant unlike those badass Arab/Pakistan Muslim whom use religion name for propaganda issue to heat up sentiment among World Muslims for their own ambition(Hatred toward Western side).I myself do not support neither them or US,For me it just another dirty political plot to spark up another War.My family including myself would go to our Chinese friend's house on New Year,Christian friend's on Christmas and so on.So i don't see any issue here.Peace!

Me too, i go out with muslim Malay frens too, visit their homes, share culture, i found singapore muslim malays are a happy lots, tho they may not excel so much as the chinese do, they are cool and always come with a smile, unlike chinese, some are so stressed and kiasee that you look at them like looking at a working robot.
Malays is a race, Muslim is a religion.
This down under peoples are a lazy lots, most singaporean migrated there because of slow pace of life and can get to laze around.
With welfare social given out for jobless, they are further encouraging laziness, no work also got money, should hv scrap this system a long time ago, and now more are getting jobless, other than oranges, apples, wines, cow and the great barriers reef, I see nothing in down under. Hope they wake up soon.
Long Live the Queen!!

I like this guy. He is brave, and well, what he said is true.
Singapore should not accomodate foreigners. It should be the other way round.

her life revolves around this forum, just do a count on her posts each day.
dont shatter her fragile hope
Kevin Rudd may not said it with political finesse.
But, like it or not, he has nailed the hard, cold fact, right where it should be.
I support his words.

I agree with your points. Well said indeed.
I have met a new pinoy migrant who asked me question that no Singaporean ever asked me. That is, why me being Christain also not a Catholic. Should a Christian be immediately a Catholic? Or should all Christian be only Catholic? This same pinoy who expressed distain in things Chinese.
I have met a new pinay migrant who questioned my inability to be gaiety like the pinoy. When I hinted my disinterest in her to her, she turned abusive, started to harass me. Should I adapt to her culture just because she has migrated to my country?
I have met a new Indian Hindu migrant who spewed hate at Indian Muslim, calling them hypocrites and expected me to go along with his views. This same Indian who expressed distain in seeing our local woman dressing casually and revealingly.
The fact is many of these migrants have never live in a multi-racial society, never live along with another race. Many are still deeply rooted in their culture, race and religion; seeing their lots as superior to others.
I don't migrate to their countries for them to express such distain in things local or for them to enforce their view on culture, religion or way of life on me.
Migrants to this country have to acknowledge that they have migrated to a new country with vastly different way of life, a country with a dominant race being the Chinese, a country with work ethics that are different and a country with multi-racial composition.
If they can’t or are unwilling to adopt or adapt, please get out.
