THESE QUOTES WERE FROM JOHN HOWARD
who is no longer the Prime Minister of Australia. The quote is NOT from Kevin Rudd. Reyes, you've mislead people with this topic.
No wonder I felt something was odd.

Never ever have an atheist as a nation leader.
I'd say never have a religious bigot as a nation leader instead...
secularism is the way to go
I 100% agree with this policy.
The majority of foreigners, other than maybe a few out of a couple of million never try to force their way of life on us, as far as I can see, here in Singapore.
I work with lots of foreigners.
If I want to complain about them it is their habit of spitting, urinating in public and overall dirty habits (not those I work with, those that live around where I live). Basically it is kampong style living, where they sit on the roadside talking away on their handphones and gather around to chit chat.
Nothing compared to what Kevin Rudd was referring to and so totally irrelevant.

Good point. I'm struggling to think of an example where foreigners try to force their lifestyle on locals. I agree with Howard/whoever's sentiments however I don't see this as a current issues in Singapore. The important thing then is to be tolerant of others cultures, or better, to enjoy and appreciate the diverse cultures here.
Does anybody have examples of foreigners forcing their way of life on locals?

respect is the word, not scare. LKY respect the muslims, he also respect all other races, that is why we got racial harmony for many years. So, you want him to destroy such peaceful racial harmony here?
LKY respect the muslims, he also respect all other races
Lee Kuan Yew's racial views:
To LKY, everyone of us are singaporeans, be it you are indians, malays, chinese or babas or other citizens, we are singaporeans.
And if someone is going to destroy this peaceful woven fabric of Singapore society where races interwined to become one singaporeans, he/she is goin to have a very diffcult life ahead.
"Childrens of all races, you are Singaporeans, be proud to be, do well in your studies, respect the elders and I wish you all excel in your education and bring Singapore to it best for the years to come"
GCT at my Joo Chiat PAP kindergarden opening ceremony.
And if someone is going to destroy this peaceful woven fabric of Singapore society where races interwined to become one singaporeans, he/she is goin to have a very diffcult life ahead.
But PAP regime now pursue the policy of flooding the entire Singapore with foreigners.
This will destroy the local Singaporean identity in years to come.
How?

It also pursue a policy of foreigner go first if there is a retrenchment, as a country lack of natural resources, we depend much on FDI, we are good in working, good in infrastructure, good in production, but we are lacking in labours. Therefore we must open up to let NTS and not just malaysian to work here, that is what the EDB recommended to the Govt that Foreign investors feels that they may not get enough labourers to sustain their business or production here.
The idealogy of NTS is not depend on one nation entirely, what if one day all malaysians decided to go back and we are in deep shit.
The internet boom has bring about globlisation, even opposition had find an opportunity to voice their opinons away from the mainstream media, and globlisation bring about an open global market, the paradigm change from local manufacturing to global services. Therefore when the global economy suffered, we are first to take the downturn, but when the global economy boom, we will be the first one there. And without the FT or FL here, companies would had long moved out, and when they moved out, we singaporeans also end up with no jobs/ or perhap with only low end local jobs.
