The Third Key
Currently, the access to reserves of Singapore requires the approval of both the President and the Government.
Thus, the concept of two keys arises from this.
This system would theoretically work well, but unfortunately, this is an imperfect world!
All along, the ruling party- PAP- commands a majority of more than two- thirds of the parliamentary seats. Thus, it could easily overrule the President of the day!
With this ever existing factor, it would be useless even if the President of the day aspires to be Ong Teng Cheong no 2!
With this in mind, Singaporeans should make a determined attempt to ‘mint’ the Third Key!
Where do the ‘Two Keys’ come from in the first place?
It comes from the mandate of the voters!
Thus, in a sense, we are the ‘hand’ that holds these ‘Two Keys’!
In the coming GE, it is a chance for the voters to exercise their free will!
The opposition parties are most likely to contest less than half of the available parliamentary seats.
If they failed to seize the golden opportunity and exercise their free will, then don’t complain when facing the following:
1) the ministers awarded themselves huge pay hikes
2) Temasek Holdings and GIC again loses billions
3) Mas Selemat Kastari continue to enjoy his freedom
4) Increase in GST
5) Suntec City became an ‘Empty City’
6) ABC Learning goes under
7) Electricity tariffs goes up
8) Bus and MRT fares goes up
9) PAP controlled Town Councils again loses millions
10) PAP government imposes heavy touch on internet to fend off ‘compliments’

I can easily predict the result if the GE were to be held now!
There will 2 opposition MP- LTK and CST. The rest will come from PAP.
After the GE, Singaporeans will continue with their favourite pastime- 'Cry father, cry mother'!
So now, we understand why Mr Li Ao described Singaporeans as stupid and of inferior stock! There is some truth in his description!
