talk about getting shot. i got shot point blank.Originally posted by Shotgun:Actually airsoft pellets don't break. Breaking would probably mean something wrong with you gun, or lousy quality pellets.
They do retain velocity if your gun has hop-up. (A backspin to the pellet to make it fly further)
However they really don't hurt that bad after the initial bruise. Believe me, I've been shot by those before. =)
Have u ever seen a real or even BB gun b4??? Those 2bucks cheepos u get from mama shops r nowhere near...Originally posted by SHODAN:i dont understand, why did government ban replicas as well? even those unfirable ones? because can be used to scare people/rob? then how about $2 guns you buy at mama shop? those also look quite similar to the real thing wad. why those guns not banned?
Kill??? Its can't even kill a cat or even a bird... Tried n tested. Those using e 6mm plastic pellets, be it gas or spring operated. Been playing wif these stuff since i was 10.Originally posted by audix:well, even airguns/bb guns if not used properly, can kills.
Its good that the government ban these. People may misused these to do funny stuffs....![]()
Yup! tt what i did back then...Originally posted by dumbdumb!:then again, if u guys are so against the ban, which seems to suggest that u would like to own one. what u want it for? shoot bird? shoot dog? shoot the noisy aunty next door?
If u r talking abt the air-soft from Japan, i think its about e same(Murui,Bankai, etc). But e Spring-operated BB-guns from Taiwan packs hell lota punch. It will definately break ur skin if shot from within 10M. Even their gas-operated airgun wif "blowback" action r no match for it.Originally posted by Flight Cadet Officer:Than it'll be come a warzone out there.
This only apply for springs. Tha gas however should be ban. They are much more powerful.
tried n tested.... no wonder this world is so chaotic....Originally posted by RAIDER:Kill??? Its can't even kill a cat or even a bird... Tried n tested. Those using e 6mm plastic pellets, be it gas or spring operated. Been playing wif these stuff since i was 10.

I though you people were talking about lead pellets
You know the air rifle gun where you hold on with one hand and rest the front part of the rifle on the closed fist of the other arm, which in turn rests on your hip bone. . .lead pellets are aplenty, come in small trays. . . sorry about my terms. . . only went shooting once or twice before in my school's range, walk-a-jogathon, they open the range up to everyone, else normally only the Air rifle club people can go in.. . no knowledge on this stuff, sorry. . .![]()
I guess tt's the next best thing to do other than shooting humans...Originally posted by audix:tried n tested.... no wonder this world is so chaotic....
n please have a heart for those animals out there....![]()
those rifles... dangerousOriginally posted by Shotgun:When I was in school, we were shooting .22s.
loader +shooter? so gd one meh?Originally posted by Shotgun:How on earth did that happen? We used to shoot in pairs, a shooter n a loader. So after the shooter fires, the loader loads n cocks the gun. We never had an accident in our school range. But, I understand where the danger comes from.... OUCH.
My take about the ban on airsoft. You see, Singaporeans are gonna continue to be ignorant of weapons and firearms until the govt. removes this ban. The pros are, people will be exposed to weapons' handling, and learning how to handle firearms with respect, with something safer - Airsoft. They learn to distinguish between an airsoft an a real pistol to protect themselves. And to a certain extent, it can help to train young men to train up some really basic stuff about shooting, and culture some good shooting habits.
In anycase, I detect the govt. slacking on the BBgun rule already anyway. Go look around in some arcades, they have this shooter that fires a luminous green 6mm BB at a sensor board. Its by Konami. Though the gun is crap and the pressure a little bit low, its still not too bad.
.22 I shoot was pistol, old police oneOriginally posted by Flight Cadet Officer:Air Rifle Captain here.
.22 or .177 ?
.22 has been wiped out. My team was the last batch to experience the National Competition in .22
Should try the .177. Mine's got like a silencer at the tip. Producers smoke when you fire though they are pellets.
aiyah, i onli get to play with .22 for now.damn rifle not even zeroed to my preference yet.Originally posted by Flight Cadet Officer:yup.
.177 is the one with a "so called" scope mounting. and .22 is the one you prone. .22 is no longer part of the competition event. more likely to be used for shooting crows.
I had my rifle customise by the armoury guy for a stronger and newer spring. For at least the first couple of days, you'll get bruises on your cheeks due to the recoil.
as for .177 you will need fair amount of lights on the target itself. The scope itself is designed in a way thatyou do not require an eye patch "for right master hand but left master eye", and the scope cushions well enough to cover the entire eye while shooting.
This reduces the amount of light entering the scope. Therefore all the lightings require is focused on the target card itself.
If your lucky enough like I am, the pellet might repel back to you.stings abit though.
.22 is good in a sense that for a fair seasoned rifle, it has enough firepower to destroy the ammo container<--- unauthorised permission by me.
.22s will still be my favourites afterall![]()
