there are non FT pass as well - its called Entreprenuer Pass.
With this they can bring dependents here.
with this they can also apply for PR.
requirement as per a leaflet found at tj pg mrt :
"No minimun Qualifications"
and
"Hugh success rate" of approval for pass.
If i were them, I would open a company and hire their friends and family from overseas family tree here where they become PR. Afterall, employment stat is based on RESIDENT figures. And some citizens can apply also lah.

As long as got relelvant skills, the govt will ask u to become PR.
From all the hostile exchanges here, many actually missed the main point......
The author of the original post is requesting the authority to focus on getting our own Singaporeans gainfully employed during such bad times. Stop issuing S-pass or work permits to these cheap foreign talents (actually calling them talents is really an insult to our own abilities).
In good times, we really dont mind foreigners to take up jobs which Singaporeans do not want.
Now it is the time for these highly paid PM and Ministers to show they are really worthly of getting such high pays...... Else we may one day replace them with those cheap foreign talents too. (LOL)

GST increase is to help the poor. Recruiting cheap foreigners is to help Singaporeans get jobs.

1. Singapore is very easy for a foreigner to get into.
2. Singapore did well BEFORE the influx of foreign workers. Can we do without the excess foreign workers ? Ofcors we can.
Keep the good ones, forget the bad ones.
Just because they are cheap, does not means they are good.
3. There's no need to throw them out.. Best will be ...after 5 years, either they renounce their citizenship in their country of origin to become SG citizens.. or they go back.
Right now.. they ( FT/FW) get to enjoy the best of both worlds.
FT and FW didn't build Singapore they are just the supporting cast.
We the Singaporeans did because it's our homeland.

Since our citizens unemployment rate getting high, we should import more foreign talents to help real Singaporeans get job. ![]()
Also we need to add 3% more to our GST so that we can help more poor. ![]()

Hard to say, nothing to compare against. We don't know if someone else coulda done a better job than him.
No doubt he lead us through some difficult times, but a leader is nothing without the hard work and sacrifice of the people.

There is no need to keep the highest paid pm in the world when he is proven to be useless. Times are bad now and govt should put in effort to cut costs.

Useless or not.. we the people are to blame.
Back in those days, there woulda be riots in the streets calling for them to step down.
Fortunately for them, we the younger generations are tamed, domesticated.
That is why they dare do such things.
what is our union labour (NTUC) doing? Did they protect any of our interests?
Seems like heard nothing from them at all.
