Depending on how you look at it, Singapore was also imposed in the region. If Singapore didn't have such a big difference between percentage of the three races, and if the British gave up Singapore at the same time as when they gave up Malaysia to rule themselves, Singapore would not be imposed in the region. The fact remains that due to the British and certain profiteering mindsets Singapore was imposed in the region. Remember the Konfrontasi?
