What's with maid abuse?

What's with those people abusing their maids? What even gives them the vaguest idea they can inflict such undeserved suffering onto another person who has as much rights as them? Some of the cases of recent abuse are appaling, esp the maid who died of abuse and the kenna pinch and scratched super badly one...
Shouldn't maid agencies breif their employees what to do in the event of abuse? I mean so many times they suffer in silence... -
There are good and bad employers, just as there are good and bad maids. . . remember the one that poured acid down a baby's throat? only got a not-very-long jail sentence while the baby is affected for life, cos its acid godammit. . .
but then again, there's the maid abusers out there. . .sometimes, it may also be provoking from the maid .. . eg. repeated laziness, feigned ignorance, etc. . . other times, it may just be cruelty and vileness in the hearts of the employers.
This whole maid abuse vs. abuse by maids issue is being generalised in my opinion and it cannot really be viewed clearly from statistics alone. Each case is unique and must be viewed seperately. . . -

actually got a lot of maid abuse cases...but not reported...
The deposit will be confiscated if the maid runs away too.
