Big deal with all your expletives in yawning and duh-ing.
Certainly you manage to get things flowing when you hijack the thread to lead it into a different tangent into your own preferred self-indulgent display of TA Stocks that you claim to be sharing.
As I had previously said - it would have been better to place your act in the marketplace or even start a new thread with a new heading that spells "defensive actions for a recession".
So you have now decided to re-qualify your earlier statement of placing your "money into defensive dividend yielding stocks" - to a new "monthly average dividends" ?
No wonder you have to take on two jobs, when others who are only in their mid-30s are having a great and profitable time.
Hind sight ?
How would you know ?
Certainly you manage to get things flowing when you hijack the thread to lead it into a different tangent into your own preferred self-indulgent display of TA Stocks that you claim to be sharing.
Realised only when you start coming in to disrupt did everyone stop posting? And when you disappeared, all the posts start coming in again? Further proof required?

You are already pointing to the wrong forum. Try again.

No, it's still net monthly dividends. It's still average monthly dividends to me.
No wonder you have to take on two jobs, when others who are only in their mid-30s are having a great and profitable time.
Sry, I'm still a few years from 30. Take on two because 1 is to serve scholarship bond, the other is for the fun of it, and actually earning more than my main job.
Hind sight ?
How would you know ?
Nothing else to say ?
You expect people here to believe you when you didn't post beforehand? If you are so good and willing to share, you would have posted your trades along with your reasons. I did, did you?
Other than the fact that hind sight is 1 word, not two, something for you

That is only due to the fact that they do not want to get into the crossfire and nothing to throw into the fire that has been spotlighted for your attempt to hijack .
You are already pointing to the wrong forum. Try again.
No, it's still net monthly dividends. It's still average monthly dividends to me.
The marketplace is a multitude of markets, your TA ideas would have been perfect.
Sry, I'm still a few years from 30.
Excuses is the problem of a juvenile mind.
And how's your take on your big boast on hindsight as mentioned behind?
Nothing to say ?
Is there anything to say based on your preferred myopic views preferred ?
How would you know if what was said in my previous response - that you were referring to - was in hindsight anyway ?
If you want to prove your trumpeting skills is real, let me know at the end of today - how much you have scored with your TA skills.
That is only due to the fact that they do not want to get into the crossfire and nothing to throw into the fire that has been spotlighted for your attempt to hijack .
Excuses
And this is because your main aim is to come here to start a crossfire.
The marketplace is a multitude of markets, your TA ideas would have been perfect.
There's a better forum for it in Sgforums. I have already posted my live trades there before. Try again. Don't expect spoonfeeding.
Excuses is the problem of a juvenile mind.
Wrong, I'm putting it right in your face that your assumptions and comparisons to people in mid-30s were wrong.
Is there anything to say based on your preferred myopic views preferred ?

As long as you have not posted any live trades before, you are considered as talking in hindsight.
No point for you to do a Madoff trick.
Why don't you post your live trade here and show us?
And again, your last sentence definitely reeks of more incomplete knowledge of TA. What do you even think TA is for?
Btw, the $3.50 stock I mentioned that I sold was capitaland. Sold some, holding some. Target to buy back a few days later because of my wave counts. It doesn't matter if it has risen, because it is already profit, and in trading, there's nothing wrong in taking profit.

Do you really believe that it matters to me ?
Wrong, I'm putting it right in your face that your assumptions and comparisons to people in mid-30s were wrong.
Again, is there any value in the self-indulgent view of a juvenile ?
As long as you have not posted any live trades before, you are considered as talking in hindsight.
Was any live trades being mentioned, or did I you read my statement posted in your preferred juvenile anxiety to see only what your brain prefer you to see in the argumentative and combative ways you prefer to adopt ?
Did you miss the tree from the forest ?
No point for you to do a Madoff trick.
Only one who is familiar with the tricks will know about Madoff's tricks - is it not your expertise in the "Art of Obstrufication" ?
Why don't you post your live trade here and show us?
And again, your last sentence definitely reeks of more incomplete knowledge of TA. What do you even think TA is for?
Did I make any claims to be an avid believer of TA, or were you not the self-indulgent trumpeter of your own TA skills ?
As I have said to you, if you claim to be such an avid follower of TA, you should have scored a few rounds that should not have required you to take on two jobs.
Are you for real ?
Is there any worth in a juvenile's view when it does not come close to the value of the skin off my nose.
Even more excuses when you are clearly nailing yourself again and again with your incomplete knowledge
Do you really believe that it matters to me ?
It just shows that you are ignorant of which forums are for what things. Duh
But to someone as self-deluding as you are, it clearly doesn't matter
Again, is there any value in the self-indulgent view of a juvenile ?
How about wrong assumptions leading you to make comparisons of my earnings with people in mid-30s, clearly 10 years older?
Atobe the hypocrite making assumptions again... Nothing new.

My morning's talk about Capitaland before today's trading commences speaks for itself.
Go hide in your self-delusion. All your words hold no weight when you can't even show any live trades (or don't even dare to).
What else to expect from someone who is clearly evading my questions on what TA is for...? If you don't even know what it is for, or don't believe it, you have just nailed yourself yet again by saying contradictory things, i.e. that I would have bought at ytd's low and sold at ytd's high ===> That is not how I would use TA. Duh again. You are taking a gambler's mindset, not a trader nor an investor. It's the "aiyah, should have done this should have done that" mindset.
All the big talks and no actions really make you an empty vessel
Again, I challenge you to go find what I have posted in Money forum (even spoonfeed you the name of the forum le, but clearly, you are denying yourself).
Post even what you analysed, giving clear reasons why. Do you think you can even manage? I doubt so, especially from what I have read from you.
if you claim to be such an avid follower of TA,
Wait, where did I claim to be an avid follower of TA. Point out the sentence.

You should be doing something profitable with your TA skills, instead of trying to con others into your useless ways.
Will you be able to profit from your own forecast, or are you going to be driven by the herd instincts of "market sentiments" and stay on the sidelines ?
Will you dare to give yourself a goal of achieving a net gain of at least $1000 by the end of the trading day ?
If the market is driven by everyone like you - all relying on a smattering knowledge with the applications TA - is it any wonder the Exchange is so lacklustre ?
Deluded ?
Only a juvenile will think that $600 from one lot is a delusion - can you manage the number if the same is multiplied by 60 lots ?
Try harder with a smaller ambition then you will not need to keep two jobs.

More assumptions by you
FYI I have updated the above post
1) You have not even understood what is TA. You can't even explain what it is used for, and you are trying to talk big here?
2) Herd instincts indeed. Go see the Money Forum posts I made. Talking when you don't even know what I posted before?
3) Have you or have you not checked back the reasons for 2 jobs? Yes or no. Any of my job is sufficient to even pay for all the bills.
4) My target of achieving my first 100k within my 1st 1.5 years of work is fast approaching. Might not be a small ambition to you, but it's sufficiently moderate for me, a target that's not too high and not too low.
5)
Will you dare to give yourself a goal of achieving a net gain of at least $1000 by the end of the trading day ?
$1k a month is sufficiently comfortable for me, and it has already been achieved for month of Apr and May when I had confirmed the trend.
Man, you guys are still going at it ?

Well, someone still insist on disrupting the thread when everyone was already posting happily mah
He disappeared for the day yesterday, and everyone comes back posting their honest opinions in an objective manner. Then today, he comes back again to post long disruptive posts.
Guess have to really ignore him to allow the thread to continue properly.
Atobe you win ok? Congrats! You are definitely right all the while! ![]()

Yes, I noticed that you were hard at work expanding your after-thoughts - sure signs of the wishy-washy juvenile mind working at an anxious pace, and posting before you are completely ready.
1) You have not even understood what is TA. You can't even explain what it is used for, and you are trying to talk big here?
Have I been displaying the juvenile art of trumpeting some limited knowledge under the guise of sharing ?
Now I wonder who has been practising the 'art of obfuscating ?
2) Herd instincts indeed. Go see the Money Forum posts I made. Talking when you don't even know what I posted before?
Unlike the aimless juvenile dropping your litter all over the place, in some useless exercise at grabbing attention and recognition, I am quite comfortable where I am.
Do I need to follow your ways of playing to the crowd, or even considering "market sentiments" - now I wonder where did these last two words come from ?
3) Have you or have you not checked back the reasons for 2 jobs? Yes or no. Any of my job is sufficient to even pay for all the bills.
Suffice to say that only a juvenile will need two jobs, and will try hard to impress.
4) My target of achieving my first 100k within my 1st 1.5 years of work is fast approaching. Might not be a small ambition to you, but it's sufficiently moderate for me, a target that's not too high and not too low.
You have the knack of only reading what your mind prefer to see, and not what your eyes have seen from the printed words - like the M-1 TV advert of the hopeless female L-Driver picking the essential words from a critically negative Driving Instructor to form her own self-deluded positive opinion.
BTW it was and remains an M-1 TV advert and not the 93.3 FM station.
I did say that you should try starting small, and if you think that 100K is a small ambition - I am quite sure that the values of a juvenile remains questionable.

100k is a small ambition because I'm already nearing 80k
Ok la, you win ok? ![]()

I have always been at peace until you decide to turn this thread - which is about the recession - into your self-aggrandising display about stock indices and trends, which had begun from your misleading numbers in stock indices that was read as the Year.

Anyway, this is really for sharing. TA is all about reading into psychology and turning probabilities to your side. And why I believe is because I have seen first hand how it can actually work quite well.
Why I think it works well most times is because financial institutions are using computer programs to help them do speed trades, so much so that it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. Big fund managers fight among each other, we small fish just join the ride. That's my opinions :D
And especially in times of recession... It can be quite amazing because human emotions are running at adrenaline... Believe it a not, when TH dumbly went to buy in Citibank, Eillott Wave Princple has actually foresaw much more downside to come... For me, this is on hindsight, but to pple in CNA forum, as well as to pple here, we all knew that it was dumb by gut feeling...

Seriously, eagle - this is nothing personal but I do take issue with TA especially in its attempts to bring market psychology into any quantifiable means into its analysis.
On its technical side, there are merits in its method to track the daily ups and downs - so that one can have a historical trend to study.
By overlaying or placing the physical or astrological events that affected the recorded performance at any particular point in time, it will help one's own judgment in the decisions to be taken either at that same co-incidental cyclical point in time - or for the longer term.
TA helps up to a point.
At the end of it all, it is still gut feeling that makes one call the shot.
This is not an attempt to best your efforts - the following will help clarify what you have stated about TA - Technical Analysis in Stock Market Trading - and let others take some measure for their own benefit.
I strongly agree with you that TA helps to a point... My main aim is just to reach expand the effects of how much help TA can give... TA can fail, because ultimately, it is merely increasing your probability...
However, I do not think that gut feelings call the shots mostly. This is mainly because of computer programs and algorithms that Goldman Sachs used to make millions.... and computers don't use gut feelings...
What I do is to identify already undervalued stocks by FA, then use TA to determine when to enter. In a way, my probability of going wrong is lower.
In short, TA helps, but in the long long run, FA wins...
Of course, gut feelings still do help... Like what Warren Buffett said, "I rather be lucky than smart". I have indeed been lucky so far.
Ultimately, my main aim is in passive dividend investing in defensive sectors because I want to survive more on dividends than salary eventually... And the first thing that comes in is SPH, Starhub, ST Engg, CitySpring as well as certain REITs... For Starhub and CitySpring, the dividends come in quarterly, so it's quite good... These are my long term investments which I'm not going to touch much... And only when I reach a certain level (abt 12k dividends monthly, average 1k monthly) will I change strategy :D
This, I feel, is one good way of helping to survive recessions... I'm lucky this time to emerge relatively unscathe, but I'm already planning for the next recession, which I forsee will happen in 10 years time due to the cyclial nature of economies.
I'm more or less of the same idea as this person who's writing in sgbluechip.blogspot.com
LADIEESSS...PLEASSSSSE!!!DUN FIGHT OVER ME!
AND DUN PIRATES EARN MILLIONS ??
Back to recession. Are we at the end, middle or the begining of a long U shaped recession?
With the US comsumer index going down like water fall and their jobless rate increases like sponge cake blooming in the oven, the world biggest economy and top spender is on its knees. I go sell papaya again
sell papaya???
my former job before i become rich

I believe middle... Situations are clearer than when it first started...
More to come I suppose.... I got insider info about my company's subsidiary going to have retrenchments soon too...

Me too, just that after the middle phrase, wonder how long is the horizontal U line, I had a feeling that it is the begining, we yet to see the base of it. My gosh! Sand delayed!
