It is very easy to exceed the income ceiling for 3 room flat if both couple are working.
You are quite right....
Then he should declare it openly, as least we, as his customer, knows the cost price and the mark up price
Our HDB we pay loans up to 30 years and low property tax, in North America, you also pay loans up to 30 years, but property tax pay sky high for life. Then, there are those third world countries, who are so poor, they just buy the land and build a shell. Save money, build one room. Save again and build another room. Roof leaking, no money also stay there. Government don't care. How to please everyone?
A $250k HDB (3-Room) is affordable if the couple makes $4,000 a month.
You just need 25 years to repay the mortgage, then save for your retirement, if you get married after saving $50k say when you are 30 y.o., you can start saving for your retirement at 55 y.o. ![]()
Wait a second, wasn't retirement at 65 y.o.? ![]()

Now mbt is being elect mp, I am not sure whether prices will rises further....the pple make the choice of the party, the people bear the consequences.
Someday a HDB 3 rm brand new will cost S$400k....then the open market price will be doubled that price....

The housing are so expensive in Singapore, but there are still people buying ? Why is that so ??? Thousands of units of condos are being sold and people still grabbed...are there really that rich people around....???!!?
Resale HDB flats are going for the sky in terms of pricings....

Even with cooling measures, private property shot up 29% more in the past 3 months, say if you bought a condo at 1m in Jan, now you can sell at 1.29m, so why not people invest? This show a fake cooling measure effect. And when pples sold, they rip the profits, go buy resale HDB flats and wait for opportunity to buy new condos or Private houses, that spice up HDB prices, and young singaporean couples who wanted to buy a resale would hv to settle for a new flat which in turn make new flats hot in demand and prices jack up.
The govt failed to see this as a chain reaction business by some pples who use our property market to gain money rather than living in it. Houses in singapore had become a trading market instead of for living. If you say abt Private Property, maybe you can sell and sold at will, but for HDB, which is for citizens, why allow it to become a by victim of private property transactions?

New PAP Housing Minister Khaw Boon Wan wasted no time to show that he is serious about tackling the housing problems which were previously swept under the carpet by his predecessor Mah Bow Tan.
the 4000 flats are planned in MBT era.
If you want to opposed, must be like our role model LTK who get his facts absolutely right.
