Just some punky mission to test Singapore's air-defense. Tried to hug behind a 747 hoping to avoid the Eyes in the Sky. Our E-2s managed to pick it out, and sent 2 F-16s after it. They "escorted" the MiG out and filed a complaint for dangerous flying in a commercial lane. Thats what I heard from some friends in the Air Force.

Eh cannot shoot. The problem with missiles is that, 1, Sparrows are Medium Ranged missiles and radar guided. Its not known for its accuracy and may accidentally hit the 747 instead.
2. The Sidewinders are heat seeking, even worse, accidentally follow the 747 how?
3. Even if the MiG explodes into a ball of flames, there might be dangerous collateral damage to the 747. -

But.... piggyback another aircraft to avoid detection is a very old trick.... to be frank... this trick was well known 30 years ago.... in fact... many fighter pilots knew that they could cover each others' radar signature by close formation flying... so as to give the enemy a false impression on the number of approaching fighters... until it is too late...... -
