ya know i think it's seriously impossible for any human to be that dumb. maybe he's just roleplaying or something?Originally posted by Stevenson101:chaar is an example why the future is so grim for humans.
dude..u seem to be very brave...if ur tat brave y not go fight for tat guy who got beaten up?...stop calling pple name behind the screen..Originally posted by albertson:CX and Viper 52 are just plain kiasi S'poreans. Not only that, without knowing the story, they jump to the conclusion that the S'porean who got manhandled by the Indonesian officer is to blame. The plain fact is that if the S'porean flouts any law, the Indonesian officer can invoke his authority to detain him or charge him but not manhandle him. This is against common law as we understand it.
The comments by CX and Viper 52 are just typical of the ugly S'poreans whom they are criticizing. They should not at themselves and do some soul searching. I hope they don't get into the same problem when they visit Indonesia and for that matter any country.
They may be following the laws of that country but sometimes some officers may just take on them because they carry S'pore passport.
It will be iteresting to know how they feel at that particular moment.
HaHa. It just doesn't pay to be Kiasi

Ahhh..name calling,..a sure sign of your maturity, or lack thereof
Not only that, without knowing the story, they jump to the conclusion that the S'porean who got manhandled by the Indonesian officer is to blame.
CX and I never claimed that he was to blame. All we said is to listen to both sides of the story. Or can't you read? If its anyone jumping to conclusions, it you who simply assumed that ALL the blame lies with the Indonesian officers

We never said he flouted the law. All we did was question if the Singaporean did anything which set off the Indonesians. Judging from the behaviour of a not-insignificant number of Singaporeans I've seen when they travel abroad, a not unlikely scenario.

In what way? By calling for things to be settled amicably? Or by asking for both sides of the story before making any conclusions?
I don't think the average Ugly Singaporean would call for such things. They'd more likely be parroting your line.
They should not at themselves and do some soul searching.
Coming from you that smacks of hypocrisy. Maybe you, who seek to blow up any little issue into a nasty international incident, should be the one searching your soul, if it exists.
I hope they don't get into the same problem when they visit Indonesia and for that matter any country.
I doubt it because
1) I treat others with respect like I hope the same from them.
2) I understand that when in Rome, do as the Romans do
They may be following the laws of that country but sometimes some officers may just take on them because they carry S'pore passport.
Now we have xenophobic, nationalistic paranoia from you. Nice.

"restrain" is a very loosely interpreted term... lets not forget: in such situations, its their word against yours. it even happens in singapore! u seem to be living in a dream world.
The comments by CX and Viper 52 are just typical of the ugly S'poreans whom they are criticizing. They should not at themselves and do some soul searching.i'm being ugly by urging restraint and seeking both sides of the story before passing judgement?
I hope they don't get into the same problem when they visit Indonesia and for that matter any country.i travel often. i take care of myself by not being an asshole, facilitating the immigration officer's work by ensuring that my documents are in order and by not flouting and obvious laws.
They may be following the laws of that country but sometimes some officers may just take on them because they carry S'pore passport.thats just your paranoia talking... contrary to your twisted beliefs, the whole world is NOT against Sg and Sg tourists do not get into senseless trouble with immigration officers all the time.

how come u wait till now to rebuke their reply? y wait till now?Originally posted by albertson:As channel 8 and U reported, 2 more S'poreans were bullied by the Indonesian officers. Both were fined for wearing slippers. This must be a joke , trampling S'poreans literally under their shoes. Can this be put aside again like what CX and Viper 52 suggested earlier ?
Can this be a case that we should not take up to preserve good relation with Indos? The only way to good relation is to ask the Indos to investigate and reprimand the culprit when convicted. Kiasism is the surest way to si ( death )
