After all porn is just another genre of art, like theatre, comedy or musical.
We are worried about our kids, but i think that any kid that has reached the age of curiousity these days have probably learnt how to navigate the internet. That's why we are beginning to hv lots of social problems with the school kids losing their virginality well before the legal age.
And sex-deprived guys raping joggers at reservoirs..Originally posted by Bobster:That's why we are beginning to hv lots of social problems with the school kids losing their virginality well before the legal age.![]()

I second the motionOriginally posted by Duke Law:I think that at this day and age, anyone with internet access has no problem with gaining access to pornography. Why is our government still so uptight about sale of lewd magazines and videos? Here's my argument:
We already a well known internation porn star by the name of Annabelle Chong.
We are losing revenue that could stay in Singapore to overseas websites and video/magazine sales.

I think it's just a blind assumption that such social issues are directly related to the internet and media influences. I mean if you look at more developed countries, we are merely experiencing the same social issues they experienced 10 years ago. To link the actions of rapist to porn is even more ludicrous since rape has been in existence since the dawn of mankind!Originally posted by Bobster:That's why we are beginning to hv lots of social problems with the school kids losing their virginality well before the legal age.![]()

Singaporean girls are selling their own porn videos for like say.. $80-$100 per VCD??Originally posted by laser51088:Singapore remains a largely conservative society, bound by its fundamental Asian concepts of morality. The large majority of the population would not want porn to be legalised, even if u can throw up real practicial reasons to do so.
Secondly, porn, while not legal, continues to be popular among people, albeit privately. Isn't that allowing people choice as well? Like someone else mentioned, the police don't come storming into ur house and arrest u for possession of porn. (unless u sell it)
The selling of pornographic material openly on the streets would also attract school going kids, and expose them to such objectionable material earlier and from even more sources.
Currently, I doubt people are making porn in Singapore for commercial sells. With the legalisation of porn, some producers are going to start making their own as well, after all, its cheap to produce and the profit margin is high. Somehow I'm not agreeable to the idea of Singapore being a porn-manufacturer as well. . .
Judging from your name and the way you speak i'm guessing you spent your time reading a holy book(Most likely christian, but i could be wrong)
I think this only goes to show that the human race society is degrading morally. Women are no longer treated with respect and instead they are being treated like a plaything. Legalisation means that the government thinks this way too. THank God they did not.
well..im just a normal person..i dun go around sayin tat porn is not the cause of rape...so i cant claim it is the cause..but the way u say it..its seem u have evidence to prove..show it to us den...ur nick looks intelligent enuff to tell us..Originally posted by Duke Law:Who are you to claim that it is?![]()
