Ha! I wouldn't touch this topic with a 10-foot pole. While the other topics I post about concern the local military, the items discussed are of a nature which one can glean off public domains like internet and publications. This one, too close to a line which I will not cross...

True....we are all bound by the Offical Secrets Act, and have no wish to try the effectiveness of the MSD branch.

When it comes deep down into army units, individual company/platoon orbat.....I think we should keep mum about it.

These things are high sensitive......much more sensitive than what is discussed so far....

Order of battle? Can get from SAF website I think. If not, you can get info from Jane's or other external sources. Don't expect sources from inside Singapore.

I felt it's more of concern with National Security than fear of the MSD. Who would want to say things that are not publicly known? If someone would be that interested, i'm sure there's ways to looking for the 'official' acknowledgement from the appropriate authorities instead of trying to 'ask' from the general public.

Jane's always a good reference, isn't it? And what about the book? Think it's call " Defending the Lion City" or something? Can't remember the exact name...think it'll give an idea to everyone.

I don't think a normal singaporean who, is interested in areas like National Security, survival and Internal Security, approached the relevant departments for some details or information, is able to get them.

Just like what you said earlier, its concerning National Security, survival of Singapore...You think the relevant departments eg.MHA, MINDEF, ISD, MSD or some other secret branches is going to release info or details to any one??? I don't think so...

Do you think the info or data in Janes' or the book "Defending the Lion City" is up-to-date? i don't think so...

I have read through the book and came across info which are wrong or incorrect.

Never assume that Singapore will be safe and fine forever. It will never be.

Even with the various intell or security depts in singapore, things will still happened.
It's just that some or most of the incidents have been classified, unknown to the general public.
Its only made known to those who needs to know them (Need-to-know-basics) only.

Like what happened in Taiwan, one of the magazines printed out classified info on tawian's security, info of some of its overseas spying posts and agents disclosed.
In the end, the relevant depts have immediately "evcauated" these people from the various places, back to taiwan.

What does these tells us? you think there's no overseas spys in singapore? I don't think so at all.

Looks like I have commented too much over here. would like to know how others think. please kindly place your comments.

If you don't already know, Jane is probably the official 'spybook' kindda reference. They are able to find from undisclosed source on the arm procurement and even those that are not publicised in the National Papers. What does that imply? They are official spying agency or something?

What i'm saying about the book is that it gives you a general idea on the setup and stuffs. If it follows the exact same thing as what we have now, (Which never happens in a printed text, don't you already know that?)something must be very wrong. SAF is probably coming to a standstill then.

And don't worry, no place in this planet is ever gonna be safe forever, not just Sg. That's why everyone is doing their tiny bit to keep it as safe as anyone as possible.

The official sources would be on the net, and if you read chinese, lotsa sites from Taiwan. Or released documents from MINDEF, i'm sure there are ways if you are really into them.

I always believe countries are spying each other, it happens, i'm sure. It's the game of intelligence, just don't get caught.

BTW, why are you so into intel stuff? You aspire to be a spy or one that's waiting to get caught? :p

I agreed. True and official data of our defence capability will never be printed out in text and made known to the public.

Actually since a long time ago , I have great interests in Security and intelligence stuff of Singapore. I have done some research on the net to find out more. I know its very hard but still managed to know a very little bit more on the topic.

Actually hope to be able to work in these Security or Intel depts or branches in singapore but very hard.
They don't place their recruitment ads in newspapers. I think they themselves do their own recruitment program.

At the same time, they will sure do security clearance for you, see if you have any bad records or whether you are reliable or not, have any intergity or not.
