Mahathir: End of an era....

The stepping down of Mahathir heralds the end of 22 years at Malaysia's helm and the coming of new and perhaps uncertain times.
While his one-time successor Anwar Ibrahim was touted as a new generation of educated and capable leaders, it would appear that the new PM Datuk Abdullah Ahmad Badawi is a more unassuming and passive leader, bringing a completely different style of leadership to the ruling caste.
He is no doubt a devoted muslim and his assension to the position of prime minister has definitely ruffled more than a few feathers with the PAS opposition because he poses a serious threat to their plans for UMNO-controlled Kedah.
For now i am pleased to sit back knowing that at lest till after the next elections, we will have predictable cross-strait relations. -

It is pretty pointless to assassinate a former head of state.
Furthermore, he has done a lot for the country so there is no reason or logic to kill him.
It's absurd to think of such ideas...
