In order to prove that HDB is profiteering from the ridiculous selliing prices of HDB Flats, the MP for Potong Pasir, Mr Chiam See Tong had challenged the Government to allow him to build an entire HDB block based on the same terms and conditions that HDB is allowed by legislation.
Unfortunately, the Government side stepped the challenge, by claiming that although the land that the HDB Block is built on has been taken over at a minimal cost of compensation to the previous land owner, the same piece of land has to be sold at Market Price.
Why do you think the Government is reluctant to give Mr Chiam See Tong the same conditions that HDB enjoy ?
Why do you only admire him from a distance ?
Why do you not engage him in a debate or discussion ?
If you admire him, did you buy any of his books for easy reading when travelling.
