What u guys think about it. I firmly believe in it. History tells us it works too, one famous example is the Nazi regime(im not pro nazi).
Though you may have a dictatorship running the country, however capitalism was practised in the industries and companies. They were not state owned but of coz they only build for themselves since they were preparing for war. So its like best of both worlds. Strong leadership at the top, flexibility down below. Anw im talking very elaborately ....
What is in a name ?
The Nazi disguised their 'evil and biggoted racist purity' credo with a favored term - 'National Socialism' - to attract their targetted audience who have fallen into economic hard times during the 1940's.
Nazism had no original political or economic philosophies or ideologies of its own, and borrowed heavily on the concepts of Communism which it loathe, and the efficiencies of Capitalism.
Capitalist Democracy or Socialist Communism, or a mix of Democratic Socialism, what is in a name when the ideologies are intended to evolve a system to organise human efforts towards a better economic standard that allow a high standard of living for its peoples.
Singapore started off - after independence in 1965 - being a member of reknown group of countries, calling themselves Democratic Socialists International (led by UK), which firmly believed in the practises of Democracy, while pursuing the laudable goals of Socialism.
However, the unfortunate high handed, 'dictatorial' practises and policies of LKY and his Ruling Party in Singapore - during 1966 to 1975 - drew the furore and condemnation of the Democratic Socialists, and got Singapore to be kicked out from an International Confederation for a second time in less then Ten Years.
Is Singapore a Democracy, in the manner that the Parliamentary System is being practised in Singapore ?
Is the manner that Politics is practised in Singapore similar to Democracy or closer to those found in Communist countries that advocate the Supremacy of a Single Party ?
Are the trappings of economic, social and cutural activities that affect the lives of Singaporeans identical to Communism or Capitalism ?
Surely by this time in the Year 2003, we have seen the unaccounted wastage and glaring economic inefficiencies in the use of talent and national wealth in a One Party dominating Politics and Economic Life in Singapore ?
strangely, there was a failed assassination attempt on Hitler before the madness of the world war...
if Hitler had died then, he would be remembered in history as a great man who rebuilt Germany after the first war...
