Hi there I was wondering if any of you know of any ex-SIngaporean who has not serve NS and who has renounced their citizenship to be able to return to SIngapore and work and live?
I am one of them and 26 now but willing to serve NS if govt give me a chance?
Can anyone help please? -

Well my story.
I was born in Singapore in 1978 and migrated to Melbourne in 1986. I got deferred from NS till the age of 21. When I turned 21, they wanted me to serve NS but due to being in University in Melbourne half way, I asked for a deferment for another 1 and a half years. They denied it and ask to me to coome and serve now or renounce citizenship. At that time, I don't think I was mature enough to make the decision but eventually just gave it up because I had my Australian citizenship. I did not want to disrupt my studies for fear I did not want to go back and study again.
So in August 2002, I applied for employment pass as my father wanted me to come back and take over his business. I was rejected but no information given as to why. But some say it could have been because the pay was less then $2500 which it was. Could have been because the salary was too low or because I had not served my country when it came to NS.
I understand if they reject it on the basis of NS because it will not be fair to local Singaporeans. But in order for me to serve NS I have to be PR or Citizen. I am neither thus cannot serve. I just need to be given the chance to work there so I can apply for PR again I am even willing to renounce my Australian Citizenship if they offer me the Singaporean citizenship again. I am also willing to serve NS.
Well that is my situation and I really want to come back and work and live. -

Yeah I spoke with immigration unfortunately I have to go through manpower to get employment pass approved first. Yeah I think have to seek MP, anyone in particular you guys can recommend?

Aiyo....siao la...your brain is (sigh)...simple thing like that you wanna go army...siao...here's the gameplan
1. Open an offshore BVI company in your name (one director enough)
2. Use the BVI company to open a bank account in Hong Kong
3. Work for your father as per normal but not under employee "name", merely as providing consultancy services to his company.
4. Collect your pay using your BVI company in Hong Kong.
5. When your visa is up, go to JB to get a renewal every 3 months.
6. This way, you dont pay Spore income tax, you dont pay HK income tax (because it is territorial based), you dont pay CPF.
Problem solved, everyone happy...one think lacking in most Sporean and ang moh is that you all dont know how to play dirty. -
ahaha so if I give consultancy services I can stay there for 3 months? Wah lau r u sure? Foreigners only get 30 days.

Under singapore law, you will be arrested upon returning to singapore. You have breached the national enlistment act and your bond has already been seized. Take this as a fair warning and return at your own risk.
If you were to check the MIndef website, it indicates very clearly that revoking of citizenship or migration to another country does not relieve you of national service. In our country singapore, you are now considered a deserter and liable to be jail for 2 years and fined up to $50,000.
