Public consultation necessary for better implementation of policies: Dr Lee

SINGAPORE : The Minister for Information, Communications and the Arts, Dr Lee Boon Yang, has said public consultation is necessary for better implementation of government policies.
Dr Lee made this comment at a dinner to thank the ministry's consultative committees.

He brought up the example of the controversial film "Irreversible" as an instance where the Film Appeals Committee was influential in the censors' decision to release the film without cuts.
He said consulting the public before policies are implemented would prevent problems and concerns from being overlooked. - CNA -

But actually, what is the point of consulting the public when non of our views, opinions, and or suggestions / objections are taken if not seriously, at least into consideration?
It's always, they know what's best for us all.
You know, I really give up on all this BS. -

I wonder if they do surveys before implementing big projects......
Seems to me that some of the major "cock ups" can be avoided.....like the NE line so called competition where there never was. -
